i don't understand why he has his panties in such a bunch, but to those of you annoyed by his posts (personally i'm just amused by his "rocket envy" and ranting) may i suggest the IGNORE button located about here...

This was not really the forum to vent my frustration, Im sorry about that. Just was really upset yesterday. I just dont think its healthy for a conference to pull the kinds of things that happened yesterday. Now the Toledo/NIU matchup is forever just a game for a pride since it obviously has no implications in post season play. And in a conference where attendance is always a struggle with just 2 bowl tie-ins, is it really a good idea to de-value regular season games? I just feel this kind of thing will hurt the conference and provide even less motivation for people to attend MAC games since they have no importance for bowl selections.
I should have kept this at the NIU board though.
It is nice to see a NIU fan getting beat up not named G-String. :D

The problem is that you are complaining about the wrong people. The MAC did not invite Toledo to play in the GMAC Bowl. Quit blaming Rick Chryst and the MAC. In fact, read an email recevied from Chryst from a NIU fan and find out that the MAC tried to get the GMAC Bowl to wait until after the MACC Game was played, but they did not want to. It's on a thread over at the other message board.
You are wrong about the UT/NIU game just being for pride. The MAC East sucked this year and that is why the MAC is in this predictament (sp?). Usually there will be a good team in the East and they would have got the GMAC Bowl bid over Toledo.
In my eyes Akron doesn't deserve a bowl bid even if they win the MAC Championship, but sometimes things work out this way for one reason or another. Unfortunately Toledo and NIU should have been in the MACC Game but couldn't because we are in the same division.
I knew I should have stayed away from this board after I said yesterday that I was going to.

Look, you guys are 7-4. If it wasn't for Rick Chryst a 7-4 MAC team wouldn't be going to a bowl at all. You should be

No--in your case it's about pride either way. Northern's beating Toledo, going to the MACC, and earning the opportunity for the bowl berth isn't enough for you. You're so jealous of Toledo that you can't be happy unless Northern gets
all of the recognition and Toledo gets

Yeah, well guess what--it won't matter at all. The bowls are all about money, which is all about attendance. The people who stay at home because their team might not go to a bowl were staying at home anyway.
Northern beat Toledo, is going to the MACC, and will likely end up in a bowl. Be happy about the most successful season you've had in recent memory. Grow up and stop seething because the team you wanted to take
everything away from still ended up with
something. You'll enjoy the rest of your season a lot more.
