Sadly I had to (temporarily) remove the "MAC Championship goes through Toledo" part of my signature this evening.

It shall return.

GO ROCKETS!!! 04-rock
I am quite upset about that.

I think we gave it away this season.

NIU handed us the West title on a silver platter by having 2 early losses and some how, some way UT screwed the pooch.

Two error filled performances ruined an otherwise great season.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the MAC (bg excepted). Here's what I believe. The MAC championship still goes through the Toledo Rockets. If any team has any aspirations about winning the West Division, they still have to face the Rockets. That was true this year and will be true next year and for many years to come. We came up a bit short this year, but will likely get a bowl bid and will be a strong contender again. We have arguably the best ongoing, continuing program in the league with a strong coaching staff. THE MAC championship does still go through Toledo. Now let's get ready to win a bowl.
I certainly believe we would have won the MAC with a healthy Scooter in the line-up.I think the defense will be even better next year. The Rockets need to recruit another powerback.A big back's ability to eat up the clock, block and get that 1-2 yards when needed is invaluable.

And, THAT is football. That's the way it happens. No team is perfect.

Stop being so freaking negative around here. Instead of pissing and moaning about what MIGHT have been, how about celebrating what IS, and what HAS BEEN a great 3 years led by Bruce. How about a litte hope and excitement about what is to come.

Look at it this way, if that WAS Bruce's last game as a Rocket (and there are no bowl guarantees at this point) - what a way to go out! Beating your rival in overtime on THEIR turf feels pretty darn good.

Go Rockets!

And the road still DID go through Toledo. To be the champ, you gotta beat the champ. NIU beat the champ on the champ's field. They earned it.
When we win the MAC you boys will get yourselves a bowl game. Rick Chryst specifically mentioned Toledo when I talked to him yesterday.

Not being negative but I prefer to be playing for MAC championships than sitting home.

To me it is sad we have to play in a conference where 8-3 is a failure, and in recent memory where 10-1 was failure.

Especially sad when the MAC is in a down year.

Of course I am excited as heck about the BG victory and if that is our last game this season that win will be my focus of the entire offseason.
