The Blade announced a crowd of 17+. Jeez it looked like a great crowd. It looked better than the MAC championship game a couple years ago- that was announced at 24+

For those at the game- what did you see?
Yeah it looked more than 17,000 at that game.
I had guessed that it was over 20K too.

Anyhow, it looked good on TV, which doesn't always happen for our nationally televised games.
Agree, Motown Bronc!!

It is nice to watch Sports Center and see those TDs in the corner of the end zones and see people there even in OT.

Playing FB in late Nov. might be brutal for the fans, but it can be great TV.

(P.S. I was supposed to be at the BG/UT game in '00 with wind chills below zero - was driving down from Ypsi and got there too late and turned around and missed the entire game!!).
I thought it was at least 20,000. Just the corners of each side were a little empty.

If I am not mistaken, for that MACC Game 2 years ago BG still had the one endzone of seating. Their stadium does not have any seating in either endzone anymore and only seats about 23K now. The one upper corner on the visiting side was pretty bare and there were some scattered open seats in different areas of the visiting side. I actually guessed about 19K, but 17,438 was the official attendance and I can see that.

By the way, some fans for both sides never made it into the game for some reason. I could see them still tailgating in the parking lot throughout the game.

I thought it looked better than 17,000, too. I was very surprised by that number. In fact, each game I've seen this season, the crowds seemed bigger than what was reported -- and while the end zone seating is gone, those were often near-empty anyway.

I'm wondering if Bowling Green has changed the way they count. In previous seasons, it seems they reported tickets sold + students who walk through the gate. It was an acceptable way to do it

Now, for whatever reason, I think they are just counting the people who show up.
I thought it was a great crowd.

From inside the stadium it looked almost capacity.

Only the upper corners were open.

BG got $52 out of me in ticket prices (2).

I think I paid $9 a tick at CMU!

Prices vary widely in the MAC.
One thing is certain, BGSU reports differently now then they did in the past. Without a doubt, there were more fans at this year's BGSU-UT game than were at the 2003 MACC game against Miami. Also, and I posted this elsewhere, there certainly seemed to be more fans at BGSU-UT than at NIU-WMU and UT-NIU yet somehow BGSU-UT had the lowest reported attendance.

I think 17,400+ was too low. Even if the stands were filled at only 75% capacity (which I think is low), we can't forget the people in both endzones (tents and portable "suites") and the people in the press box.
