Nick's Picks for the mid-week MAC football games are now live on VanDelaySports.com. This week features MAC football games on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as we wrap up the regular season with both spots in the MAC Championship game up for grabs.

Nick's recap for last week's mid-week games is also live on the VanDelay site FYI.

I am also pleased to inform you that our MAC East basketball preview will be released sometime this week with the MAC West preview coming later this week or early next week. We will continue to cover MAC basketball on VanDelaySports.com throughout the season with Dan writing about the MAC East and Jonathon writing about the MAC West.
I'm going to go out on a limb and will take all bets. I'm going to say......Navy 38-17. I will also give odds to say they end the game scoring 24 unanswered points. 03-wink
I wonder if there's a way to put more ads on Nick's site for spyware/adware prone downloads. Also, think he could increase the pop ups? My Google toolbar needs a little more work.

Nobody should ever get more than one pop-under ad every 12 hours. I just went to ESPN.com, CBS.Sportsline.com, CNN.com and Foxsports.com. On all 3 sites I viewed multiple ads and on all three sites I was hit with at least one pop-under ad (2 on CNN.com). I have the pop-under/pop-ups set at 12 hours so as not to annoy our users too terribly much, but still stay in line with what the industry standards are.

If anyone would like to continue this conversation you can feel free to PM me.

No need to continue it, since the behavior clearly will not change.

The pop ups are annoying, but running ads that could lead to spyware/adware downloads could go beyond that. While they may, too, be deemed "standard" by the industry, that will not make them any less destructive.

I will make one thing clear. I specifically review the ads each week (sometimes several times a week) to make sure to keep out the provacative ads, the ones that try to force user action, and other ads which I do not approve of. None of the ads should be adding any spyware to your cpu or anyone else's. Like ads on other sites however, they will at times use a cookie to determine whether you have been to the site or not. That same cookie keeps the same ads from appearing each time you return or from multiple pop-ups appearing.

If I ever get around to writing up a Privacy Policy I'll add that these ads are indeed safe and to email me through the site if they see any ad that they think is not appropriate.

Again, if you'd like to discuss this further I would appreciate a PM.
