It was so much fun yesterday, let's try it again today (especially since our C-DOA friends missed their chance at attendance smack)! Craptacular weather, awesome football matchup with the two best attendance generators in the MAC.

BTW, here's the call from Weather.com...

Windy. Snow flurries and a few snow showers throughout the night. Colder. Low around 25F. Winds WSW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 30%.
Perfect FB weather.Game will be won in the trenches.
Wind chills in the teens tonight as well.

However, this will be a good crowd.
Hey Alum, did you know that "more than 25K, but less than a sellout" is not a very wide window? The Glass Bowl seats 26,248.

Yeah, I did that before I remembered you saying the school wouldn't be bringing in temporary bleachers like they usually do for big games. :)

I don't believe we have those bleachers anymore. Last time they were used was against Pitt in 2003. Last year against BG the game soldout a bit before kickoff and students were turned away at the gates. Those temporary bleachers would have come in handy.

Because we do standing room only, we can pack in a little over 31K before the fire marshall says no more.

But, you've been telling us all week there will be 30,000 there.

I didn't say I said there would be between 25K and 26,248 in attendance tonight, so I don't know what you're point is.

I have said that the AD Media Relations office at UT has told me to expect between 25-30K for the game and I felt that it would be 30K. I still feel that way too.

Only 4000 tickets remain as of this afternoon. There will be over 30K in attendance.

Did you read my previous post before posting this? I said that yes I did say that there would be 30K and I still believed it would be.

I underestimated how many Toledoans would buy a ticket and wimp out because of the cold though. I don't know what the actual butts in the seats attendance was, but there was only 900 tickets for the game that they didn't sell. I know there was more than 900 seats open tonight too, so people just didn't come after buying tickets.
i left at halftime...

it was waaaaaaaaay too cold for my liking
If it was anything like it was here, I'm not surprised there were so many no-shows. That wind was a killer.

I made it almost to the end but when the people I went with said they couldn't feel their toes any more we left. I honestly wasn't that cold but I layered up pretty well and I spent the best $50 of my life on UnderArmor which helped sooooooo much!!!

I was surprised and very upset at the turnout. I kept saying, maybe the people are still out tailgating... then halftime came (after what seemed like 3 hours...TV games are awful when the weather is bad) and the stands were still half empty... I'm wondering how many are going to make the treck to BG next week.. one good thing was that it didn't look like UT had too many tickets left in the 1 section BG gave to us so maybe there will be a good showing...
By the way, I guessed 5000-7999.

At one point in the first half I got an inside scoop that the wind chill was 14 degrees. I am sure it got much colder as the 2nd half came around.
