Huggins article. Won't happen, but does mention two MAC schools who could be looking for new coaches in the near future (due to success I hope).

If Huggins even brought 2 of those players listed with him to a MAC school, it would be a terrifying experience for the rest of the conference.

Ugh.
God no! I hate Huggins and I would not want that jerk coaching my Bobcats. i don't care how many games he's won. he's bad news...total lack of intergrity. not what my unversity is all about and I am sure Dr. McDavis and Athletic Director Hocutt would recognize that and say thanks but no thanks. besides O'Shea just signed a big contract at the end of last season so he's off limits. ok so i'm in denial about that but still i don't want Huggins anywhere near Ohio University.

The dude is a jerk and a cheat, but the players, attention, and results on the floor he could bring a MAC School would benefit them for a long time, which might be worth all the other crap you have to deal with with Huggins.
absolutely not. let him go to Kent State...they are used to having no integrity.

Any other Kent fans want to take this one.

Bobcat-backer wins the "Moron of the Month" award. Congrats. :arse:

Agreed...I'm not sure what he's talking about.

No Huggins here! What exactly has he won for Cincinnati? No championships.. Not worth it for the embarrassment of a program.

right on KSUDan! the MAC doesn't need his kind. oh wait...didn't he coach at Akron? lol nuff said! eheheh
Word has it that Wright State is gonna fire their coach for lying to the administration about his role in the OSU scandals. Huggins could take over in three weeks after his contract expires with UC. He needs 2 more years for his state retirement benefits, so he must choose an Ohio school.

No Championships ? Check the CUSA recrod books, I believe he wrote them.

As for integrity, Huggs is as honest a man out there, probably too honest for his good.

That being said, although his only year coaching college basketball was in Florida, I see him having no problem getting a big jopb in a major conf.. He will not end up in he MAC again.
For Huggins' sake, I hope you're right. But you have to know the pulse of university presidents around this country is directed toward change and running extremely clean programs (and I'm not talking about NCAA violations - more like not recruiting guys dumb enough to bring a gun on campus). Guys like Huggs will have it tough. Will someone be desperate enough to hire him? Probably. But he will be under the microscope like never before.

IMHO, Huggins problem is twofold: one, he recruits kids who are good players. Period. He doesn't seem to care about their academic background nor their citizenship. Then he has to try to rehab them in these other areas once they're in his program. That's tough.

Two, he is as stubborn and hard-headed as they come. In some ways he's not too bright, either, because any time you think you can go up against your boss and win, you've either been misinformed, misled, or delusional. The truly excellent coaches in college basketball can be demanding, but they know how to play the game. You don't try to bully your president around - even if they do have more power they wisely don't try to act like they have no boss, at least publicly (and probably privately, too).

But the guy does know x's and o's.
Bigbear,

The new president will never bring the money to UC that Huggs did and will for a long time. They are in the Big East and will receive the money from it because of him, solely rebuilding the program.

They guy gets a bad rap from being successful early in a upstart conferance, that is not established, at the time. Talk to any coach and they will tell the guy has a ton of integrity and does it fairly. He was an academic all american and is sold, he'll get a job and will make ore money than he ever did @ UC as ironic as that is. He gave up many opportunities to stay there.

Yeah, we all saw Jim Harrick's struggles to find employment.
And Harrick stole money from UCLA and then corrupted Georgia. Huggins hasn't done anything wrong, except those who allege the quality of his kids character are below their standards
.
Huggins will get a big time contract this time next year and will be in the Top 20.

I was talking about national championships! Maybe at that point can you put up with his DUI ******, but for being complacent in the conference every year. You could usually pencil them in for a second round loss. That to me, is not worth all of the crap he brings with him.
