Not sure if this is the case, but is it possible that they did not want CMU as the Game of the Week two weeks in a row? I don't think that should be reason, but I wonder if it is. Also, I will assume they chose BG before Omar was hurt, thinking that would draw viewers? Trust me, I think most BG fans would prefer to NOT watch the BG-Kent game and would rather watch NIU-CMU. The problem is, just like Monday Night Football, they choose these games several weeks beforehand, so they won't always end up with the best match-up. I realize that there was basically no chance that BG-Kent was going to be a good match-up, but I go back to having Omar on TV as the reason.
Good luck to NIU. The MAC is crazy this year, so I would not be surprised by an NIU victory on the road after CMU beat Toledo on the same field and most outsiders probably thinking CMU will win.
Actually it would be three weeks in a row as the cmu website states they will be the mac game of the week the following week against wmu. Doubt if anyone (station) will pick this weeks game up.

Didn't the pre-season TV announcement state that there would be 9 televised games this year and that the 9th contest will not be announced at this time due to contractual reasons.
Any further announcement from NIU Athletics about this 9th game. And no, it was not the MACC game either!
