Leave it to the national media...

In what is the most important day in Chicago baseball in the last 46 years, leave it to the national media to not point out how great this team has been all year, but they open with an entire piece dedicated to the 1919 Black Sox. Completely classless coverage.

The inferiority complex exhibited by this writer is an example of a minor mental ailment, a neurosis.

The multiple pseudonyms, the endless paragraphs of babble, the willingness to return to this site again and again again for abuse and humiliation, your bizarre sexual fixations alternating with puritanical tirades all bespeak of your very serious mental illness, NIU85Alum.

You need to seek professional help before you hurt yourself or someone else.

Seriously. Get help before it's too late.......

Personally, I thought the idea was to win a World Series, but to quote a famous celebrity - congratulations on your no prize winning victory. (at least not yet).

When it comes down to it the Cubs and Sox have virtually no difference the last 20 years.

I hate to say it but I actually am rooting for them. Unless I talk to too many of their dope fans who care more about saying they are better than the Cubs than actually winning.

The thing is the Sox are an annoyance to the Cubs, but the Cubs are all the Sox think about. Look at their players, even they can't help but metion the Cubs on 50% of all there interviews.

Go Sox - I think = Sox fans please stay away so your ignorance makes me cheer for Houston!
Nice win for the Sox tonight. If they win the whole thing, good for them.

But to think that Cubs baseball is insignificant is comical.

Go Astros!
Go Bears!

Bears 3
Ravens 0

:withstupid: You are an idiot. You pretend like this guy used the word "cubs" as in "the Sox are better than the cubs" or "the Sox beat the cubs to the World Series" or "cubs suck". He didn't do any of this. He simply told a story about growing up as a Sox fan on the north side.

I'm not going to use the "typical cub fan" comment for this one. The guy in this article is a typical idiot.

There's always one in every crowd.

Thomas Flannigan, 22, of Bridgeview, came to the World Series with one goal in mind -- cheering against the Sox. The Cubs fan bought an Astros hat Friday and showed up at U.S. Cellular Field on Saturday in a T-shirt on which he wrote, "I am the Curse."

Told there was no curse -- be it Bartman or Goat -- against the Sox, he responded, "I hope the Sox die trying."

Sox fans' response?

"People are calling me a loser," Flannigan said.

Duh.

For those who don't quite understand the Sox fans' obsession with the Cubs being the primary team in Chi-Town...

You all understand it in a different light: look at this from an NIU fans' point of view vs. our big-10 Illinois bretheren. Although the rivalry isn't nearly as big as Sox/Cubs, us NIU fans have a sort of complex when it comes to the media attention that the Big-10 teams get around here no matter how bad or good they are. Its quite similar to the Sox usually being pushed back. And when we succeed, we gloat how much better we are than Illinois/NW.
