From the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

Columbus -- Ohio State will play Bowling Green in Columbus on Oct. 7 next season, adding a 12th game to the schedule as approved by the NCAA.

"We feel fortunate to be able to add a team like Bowling Green," Gene Smith, Ohio State's director of athletics, said in a statement. "When the NCAA approved a 12th game, our goal was to get another home game and to try to schedule a good in-state team in an effort to keep our education dollars in Ohio. Bowling Green fit that scenario perfectly."

The game slides into a previously open date in the middle of the Big Ten schedule, between road games at Iowa and Michigan State. The Buckeyes will have seven home games next year, including their opener against another MAC school, Northern Illinois.
Ohio State has beaten Bowling Green in three previous meetings, all played in Columbus. In their last game, Ohio State won, 24-17, in 2003.

I believe that that is the game first offerd to Kent State. I am sure that we would turn it down since our prospect for improvement is slipping away and we are not about to change our destiny. 03-banghead
Nice schedule for BG next year. Wisconsin in Cleveland, Boise State at home and at Ohio State.

Ahh.......that is the question. 03-wink
If not, Anthony Turner will be a good QB.The QB position is not where BG will be hurting.

I was looking on the web at a future schedules site (I don't know how acurate) and noticed that Boston College has been added to KSU's schedule next year. Can anyone confirm that from anywhere else? Dave??

I would dig around on your Web site and on Boston College's Web site.

These games are usually announced with a news release, and if it was set up before July, it probably appears in the media guides, which may be on those Web sites.
Not So Bold Prediction: If Bowling Green goes undefeated next year, they will be in a BCS bowl.

Of course a Bold Prediction of Epic Proportions would be to say BGSU will do it.

Agreed.

That's a challenging schedule, and we will lose quite a few offensive weapons: Charles Sharon, Steve Sanders, P.J. Pope, B.J. Lane... and, potentially, Omar.

Anthony Turner will be a good quarterback for us whenever he finally gets the call -- more along the lines of Josh Harris than a drop back guy like Omar. Also, we've got a true freshman, Bobby Thomas, who looks good at running back. He's got wheels.

I'm not sure how deep our well is at receiver. Corey Partridge appears to be the second coming of Cole Magner (with no offense intended to Cole's brother, Rhett), but we are going to need more receivers to step up. That's probably my biggest concern about next year.
Congrats to BG for that schedule next year. Let's just hope a schedule like that doesn't hurt you going into conference play.
