From the Cleveland Plain Dealer:
Columbus -- Ohio State will play Bowling Green in Columbus on Oct. 7 next season, adding a 12th game to the schedule as approved by the NCAA.
"We feel fortunate to be able to add a team like Bowling Green," Gene Smith, Ohio State's director of athletics, said in a statement. "When the NCAA approved a 12th game, our goal was to get another home game and to try to schedule a good in-state team in an effort to keep our education dollars in Ohio. Bowling Green fit that scenario perfectly."
The game slides into a previously open date in the middle of the Big Ten schedule, between road games at Iowa and Michigan State. The Buckeyes will have seven home games next year, including their opener against another MAC school, Northern Illinois.
Ohio State has beaten Bowling Green in three previous meetings, all played in Columbus. In their last game, Ohio State won, 24-17, in 2003.
