Before I go study, i had to see who you guys thought was the player of the game. A TON of choices tonight.

I have to go with Blalark, First INT, solid all around game, actually gave us a presence at MLB.
Sam Hurd. He was silly tonight. Maybe trying to
make up for NU and Akron miscues?

I agree with Hurd. Or Hutton, he didn't fumble once.
It would be crazy not to go with Hurd.
Anyone who saw the game on TV.. how much did the announcers talk about the trash talk coming from Hurd. Hilarious.. he just owned Hunter, he has to be the player of the game.
Have to go with Hurd. Catches at crucial times, and carried defenders for extra yardage. 04-bow

They showed him talking a lot after the catches, but they didn't say much about it. They only talked about what a great game he was having.

Sam Hurd did pass his career high in yards today...So i guess we can agree NIU85ALUM is a moron when he said he didn't think Hurd/powers could step up.

Hurd has to be the player of the game because 2 of his catches made the sportscenter replays from the game. :)

Thank you my ESPN source. 04-rock

The best was when he carried the CB for about 23 yards. Stuart Scott was like man his entire family is hurting after that.

That was one of the plays they showed. The Sports Center guys were basically "WOW" while showing the play.

I thought I heard that Hurd finished just 11 yards shy of the all-time Huskie receiving record of yards per game set by Fleck in 2003
That is correct, they said on the radio Hurd was second to PJ. Pretty incredible game. I like that catch he made at or around the 50 where he jumped way up to snag a ball for about a 25 yard gain. Hurd has stepped up big big time this year, the entire offense in fact.

4. Defence!
Hurd - no second or third. The man owned the defense tonight. I am in shock watching the game and talking to an Tennessee NIU alum (fan) while Hurd was doing some second half magic. I was almost in shock trying to describe his plays to my friend.
If Horvath hadn't thrown for 6 TD's vs Akron, Hurd would be player of the game the last two games, with his 14 catches at Akron and his 223 yards receiving tonight. He's really stepping up.

Baker asked Novak in the post game interview what's been the turnaround with Horvath, "he's playing like an All MAC WR". Joe said "I think even more than that". Is Joe thinking All American?

I think an unsung hero in tonight's game (and all year so far for that matter) is our entire offensive line, who obviously creat holes for G-Dub and AJ, but our pocket protection giving Phil time to go through his progressions has been fantastic. I was most impressed with our blitz pick-up tonight.
Hurd is a great choice, but I'm going with Blalark. That defense looked different tonight and I think he was a big reason for that. He stepped up. We needed a game like that for this defense. Holding Miami to 7 first half points was pretty impressive, especially after seeing the first half stats. I believe Betts was around 49 yards passing.
