I have always been interested in the operations/logistics involved when playing away games whether arriving by coach bus or by plane & bus.

Wednesday nite away games must present alot of special challenges.

+ How many days/hours of class seat time are lost ?
+ Is Miami already in the area tonite or arriving later tonite or Wed
midmorning? Visitors have often selected Holiday Inn, Rochelle in
year's past.
+ When does team have opportunity to do walk thru on carpet inside
Huskie Stadium?
+ Are routine meal schedules disrupted by travel departure/arrival
times because of Wednesday?
+ How far in advance of game time is all equipment put into place ?
+ Will Miami depart immediately after game ends and arrive in Oxford
early Thursday am and some players expected to attend am
classes having played 12 hrs earlier?
Very interesting questions. I hope someone can answer them. Midweek football is the curse of all Mid Major programs. Maybe going to a 12th game will stop the Tuesday/Wednesday scheduling.

Midweek games are the only time when the better mid-major programs get national exposure without competion from BCS conferences. It must be hard on the team, but the exposure is well worth it. Can you beat ESPN coming to DK? That will never happen on a Saturday.

Moving to a 12 game season will make weekday games difficult. In a typical 11 game season, we have 2 byes between the first game and MACC date. However, anytime there is a weekday game, it takes a bye away since there is 1.5 weeks before & after the weekday game. If you look at NIU's schedule, we don't have a real 'bye' (2 weeks off) this year. We have 1.5 weeks off before & after Miami, 1.5 weeks off before Toledo, and 1.5 weeks off after WMich. Had we played 12 games, only one mid-week game can be scheduled per season, unless multiple mid-week games are scheduled in sequence (like Toledo and WMich this year). I think we'll see more of this next year.
