Amazing! Two Miami drives, two TD's. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="mad-flaming.gif" />
No wonder nobody but us cares about this team!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="mad-flaming.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="mad-flaming.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" />
Relax man, bball season is just around the corner! <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />
If you recall, Miami had good field position on those early drives. The team was in the game all the way and did not seem like they quit.
My observations after going to Oxford....

1.) The defense really came around and forced some turnovers. They kept the Flashes in the game once they got it together. The injuries at MLB really showed, especially after Mahl went down in the second half. Miami knew it and ran right at the young guys. Also picked them apart on mid range routes over the middle.

2.) KSU got robbed out of 9 points!! We sat high, right on the goal line. That was a safety! No doubt. You could see the RB's knee mark in the endzone about two yards deep. The runner was tackled parallel to the goal line. The ball never came close to crossing it!

The fumble return(not a called a fumble) was a joke. The ball popped out on a wicked hit, in mid air. The freshman from Grove City (name escapes me now) picked up the ball and was gone for 6. Everbody knew it was fumble. The Miami guys reaction to the ball further obvites it. How could he have been down??? Impossible.....

And on a personal note after I think my fourth trip to Oxford.....

Losing at Miami, and being there, is the worst. I hate their crowd, I hate their PA anouncer and their orchestrated "cheering". I hate their band. Is this the only place in the MAC that allows the band to play during the opposing teams' offensive plays? I hate the group mentality of their students at the game.

An open invitation to the MU students. Please come to Dix Stadium next year when your team travels to Kent. And please feel free to sit behind the Flashes bench like you do at home. And please feel comfortable with your group insults at individuals. I would love to see you interact with some of the KSU students who sit behind the Flashes bench at Dix. Those who go to KSU games at Dix know what I'm talking about. Let's just say it's a little different demographic than the Biff's and Chad's of Oxford...... <img border="0" alt="[NoNo]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" />

Looking forward to the NIU matchup. Should be quite a game. Artificial turf really gives the Flashes an advantage on Offense. Hopefully the D will have a better start....
Nice view <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" /> MAcBuck!!

Could only listen to it on the radio; and they also thought that it was a clear safety!!

It also seemed that Miami made the adjustments needed at halftime to contain Cribbs, as the second half he really could not get anything going.

Well.......we all knew this would be a tough one and another tough one against NIU <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />
Who knows what NIU team is going to show up? The one that almost beat Wisconsin or the one that lost to Western Ill. and got blown out by USF?

Either way, it will be a tough road game against a team they shocked at home last year.

One thing surprised me from the MUr game though. I really thought that Alston was ready to break out after that Cal Poly game. Is he still hampered by the ankle or did MUr D shut him down? He will be a key for the rest of the season and taking some pressure from Cribbs.

Go Flashes! Beat NIU!

Concerning Alston, it's hard to tell if his stats were really indicative of the kind of game he had. Once they were down 2 TD's, it was kind of Cribbs by air or Cribbs by ground. I do remember being impressed by the way Alston ran the ball on a few carries, although his yardage didn't reflect that.

NIU is a tough one to figure out. I know traditionally, Western Ill. is one of the most physical teams in 1-AA football, so that loss might not be as bad as it looks. The USF loss is encouraging for the Flashes as speed might give the Huskies some trouble. We'll see though.....
<img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> Yeah, this is a very hard game to figure. NIU doesn't give you a angle with which to figure them out. They look like a different team each week.
It's must-win time for the Flashes, we know that--a home MAC loss <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> to NIU would not bode well...
You do know that Saturday's game is in DeKalb, right??

Injuries to key players has us as a younger team than expected, and they're inconsistent. We're down 4 guys that were preseason all-MAC in some publication, and two other preseason all-MACs came out of last game. We're missing important players. <img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" />

How's Kent's injury status? Is there another Kent board hiding somewhere??
<img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" /> You may think it's in DeKalb, but I'll be at Dix stadium, tailgating, getting in early for the good seats!
<img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" />
(Duh, well at least if we lose, it won't be a HOME loss... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> Thx for the correction--I knew better.)
Our injuries aren't too bad, though we have been missing a key LB from last year. Don't have a current update though.

NOT TRUE! A friend of mine told me his cousin talked to a guy who said he thinks his nephew went the Cal Poly game.
<img border="0" alt="[withstupid]" title="" src="graemlins/iamwithstupid.gif" />
So I will be the second when they open the gates tomorrow. <img border="0" alt="[wave]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" />
