1. Air Force
2. BG (moving on up on AF according to ESPN)
3. Marshall
4. U of L
5. So. Miss
6. Boise State
7. BYU
8. Fresno State
9. Colorado State
10. Arkansas State?? (I thought this was a joke.....where is Miami??

Anyway, this modes well for the WAC having good choices for the SVB (SJS or Fresno) and H-Bowl (Boise State). This also means it's a good year for a MAC team to be selected for either one of these bowls as a sell-out is likely no matter how many MAC fans can attend. Also, So. Miss would be a great choice for the GMAC Bowl, also guaranteeing a good crowd which could open things up for a Miami, BG or UCF to gain an invite if they didn't want to have the same MAC team bowling there again (although I think they would be very happy to have Marshall back).
I'm quite sure the last slot is reserved for a team that is doing better than expected
- just as in the bottom 10 list they always put a BCS team that just suffered a
humiliating defeat (Nebraska, Michigan State etc have all been on the bottom 10 list this season).
The #10 spot seems to be honorary - not honestly supposed to be consider the 10th best (or worst) team.

My list:
1. Bowling Green (4-0 with 2 BCS wins)
2. Air Force (5-0 with 2 BCS wins)
3. Louisville (3-2 with 2 BCS wins - one of which was over Florida State)
4. Boise State (4-1 with only loss to a BCS team)
5. Colorado State (4-2 with 2 BCS wins)
6. Marshall (3-1 with no major wins)
7. Southern Miss (4-1 with a BCS win - but Illinois stinks this year)
8. TCU (4-1 but beaten no one of any consequence)
9. Miami(OH) (4-2 with a BCS win and a win over a top half C-USA team)
10. SJSU (4-2 with one of the WAC's 2 wins over the BCS)

By conference:
MAC: 1. BGSU, 6. Marshall, 9. Miami(OH)
MWC: 2. Air Force, 5. Colorado State
C-USA: 3. Louisville, 7. Southern Miss, 8. TCU
WAC: 4. Boise State, 10. SJSU

Air Force's schedule is impressive. They beat Cal and mauled Northwestern like it was a motley crew of nonscholarship I-AA ragamuffins.

Ranking Air Force ahead of Bowling Green is pretty easy to justify, if you ask me.

But it's only Oct. 9.
