That's funny!

He's done that several times, both in public speeches and private conversations. He just can't get over the fact that the MAC is from the MidWest, and it just sticks in his mind.

I was at the Sunday night reception and I was more surprised that our new AD chose the wording he did. But to be honest, this was his first public speech to a large group of boosters, and he appeared extremely nervous.

Looks like UCF is trying to create some rivalries in a hurry. Should make things interesting in the "Midwest" conference this year.

I gotta admit that I liked Pruett's response to all that with his comment about his hoping that "UCF will still be around to honor the Herd's return visit to Orlando next year".

Hard to imagine that these UCF coaches and administrators would be so graceless and/or clueless.

I stand by my earlier comments - UCF will receive a rude welcoming to the MAC and finish 6-6 or worse. Welcome to the MAC, baby! <img border="0" alt="[NoNo]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" />

Pruett's response was particularly funny when one considers the extraordinary lengths to which they have gone to try to make sure THEY won't be around to return the game in 2003. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="rolleyes.gif" />

Well fellas, I guess it's time to lay the smack down on the Sunshine Boys. <img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" /> I have to laugh at these people, a generation ago they didn't even have a football team, but heaven help any of us "Midwesterners" if we refer to them as CFU instead of UCF. At least Marshall fans have reason to talk smack.

So, where did you say the CFU campus is located, Lakeland or Plant City? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

How do you mess up an a CONFERENCE?!

I think ya'll have blown this completely out of proportion. Ya'll have to remember that the only thing many of us in Florida know about the north is that it is the source of a large amount of our sales tax revenue. Mid Western, Mid American or the Organization of the Northern Aggression doesn't mean much except that it is all Up North somewhere. Let's just settle down and think about football and everything else will work itself out. <img border="0" alt="[Bow]" title="" src="graemlins/bow.gif" />

I think if this were an isolated incident, it'd be overlooked, and maybe even laughed at. But your administration has had several very public blunders and football season hasn't started yet.

From a PR standpoint this is a Knightmare -- especially when you condsider the effort the rest of the conference went through to showcase UCF, and then to have your President not know the name of the conference that rolled out the red carpet for his school is simply unexcusable.

Smack talk by fans on an Internet site is one thing...these goofs are coming from your leaders. And they are consistent.

I don't mind the attitude that you're going to win -- I would hope that would be there. But this makes UCF look clueless. Sorry -- that's the way I see it, and I'm no MAC cheerleader by any stretch.

I think what has happened is that your coach, AD, and President have painted bulleyes on the schedules of every MAC team you'll play this year.

wow...very interesting indeed. I hope the Knights are ready cuz this ain't gonna be a walk in the park...although, I'll be rooting for them big time vs. Penn St and Arizona ST. SHould make for a very interesting season...GO FALCONS!!!

One word about the UCF AD and President quotes: Wow. Up to this point, I have always reserved Marshall as a program to loath. UCF has clearly knocked Marshall off of its throne as the most despised MAC team.

I'm sooo envious of the UCF basketball program playing in the TAAC.

Also, has anyone noticed how many JUCOs UCF recruits? It's easily 2-3X more than the average MAC school.

I think we deserve what we're getting but this contributes to the overall good of the conference as it instills a whole new energy level. I genuinely believe our leaders meant no disrespect, they are just new to being in a football conference where passions run much deeper than other sports.

Face it, everyone will be looking forward to playing UCF to try to put us "in our place". The games mean something, welcome to big time college f-ball. We never had that passion when I went to Ohio U. except when we played Miami and it makes everything more fun.

The number of JUCO's on the roster isn't typical. We signed all of those guys because of our inclusion into the MAC. We had immediate needs, and we don't have the time to groom younger players if we expect to compete in this league right away. Next year our recruiting coordinator said we may say one JUCO, if that. So its not a typical recruiting philosophy. Coach Kruzeck definitely prefers to build through high school players, but he also has an obligation to try and compete and win right now.
