A much more positive "spin" on the bowl picture, and one much closer to Vandelay's vision. Note that the SEC is not mentioned, so that part of the equation is a mystery unless it's accurate that either the WAC and/or MAC must NOT have a bowl eligible team before the GMAC can go to the SEC for an opponent.

I like the MAC/WAC cooperation here....it's prudent and it sounds like more of the same in the new Ft. Worth Bowl startin up next year, which will be hosted by C-USA vs. either the WAC/MAC and/or MWC.

Lastly, one great thing about UCF in the conference (besides their AD and administration being easy to dislike due to their cockiness) is that the Orlando Sentinel does a good job of following college football. I know that the UCF folks feel that they often get the "short shift" from that paper, but they seem to already have lots of articles about the MAC and when I've been down in Orlando during football season I've thought that they had a great sports section covering college football as a whole.
By the way, I might add that I just saw a post by a ESPN Regional Producer on the Vine, and he commented that this was "nothing really new" and that the MAC does indeed have 2 guaranteed bowl slots this year.
