Here is an excerpt from the Denver Post that all SBCers in the Central and Eastern Time Zones understand well; several of us rejected WAC overtures for this very reason!
"Out here in the lost time zone, folks love their college football. Not that anybody else in the nation cares. Or notices. . .
Try as their teams might, the Western Athletic and Mountain West conferences cannot earn stars on the football map. For all their victories, Colorado State and Hawaii make agate type in the New York Times, not national headlines. . .
Apart, the WAC and Mountain West are nobodies, double-secret societies, playing the best college football nobody recognizes."
