Miami 31 CUSA Bearkittens 26.

Wow! These MU/UC games tend to be "barn-burners" most every year. Always glad to get the "W" vs. the 'Cats, especially playing at their place!

MU ups it record to 6-4-1 vs. C'USA since its formation (4-4-1 vs. UC and 2-zip vs. Army).
Great job by Miami! Every win counts, and this is a big one.
Good job! You beat the Bearkittens about as well as OSU did.
By the way, the Kittens (with some help from Miami Cincy area alums) had a nice crowd of 31.5K at Nippert today for the game......might be one of their top 10 crowds ever.

"Ah, I love the smell of a vanquished C-USA foe in the morning." (esp. sUCks)

Congrats! Now, make sure and beat our OOC conference member.

See you in Toledo in a couple of weeks. I've had that date circled since the schedule was released.
4th best crowd in Nippert history.

Here's a beautiful photo from the game. Enjoy!

UC #2 in the state of Ohio?? I think not.

Ohio State has been nice enough to schedule Akron & Kent State, but why not Miami, Toledo or Bowling Green? Hmmmm, I think we all know the answer to that question.

GREAT JOB REDHAWKS!! Keep it up!!

OSU now plays each of the Ohio DIA schools in rotation.

Toledo played them a few years back, as well. The Buckeyes were, imo, the most talented team in the nation that year. Our QB lined up to take the snap from the guard on the first play. It went downhill from there.
I honestly think there are only two teams in the country that could beat Bowling Green by more than a touchdown right now, and Ohio State isn't one of them.

You haven't played a top team, yet. You've played a bad MAC, an Ohio Valley Team and some bad to mediocre Big 12 teams.

I think you guys are good, but lets reserve judgement until you play another good team.

Remember, even though you BUGS folks seem to gloss over this fact, we did beat you guys last year in your stadium. And I think we are a better team than we were last year, too.

Let's see how you do against WMU, Toledo, SFU, and NIU.
I should not have said "could beat" above. I should have said "would beat," softening it by a hair.

As for Miami's win last year in Bowling Green: I don't want to completely discount it, but it did come the week before Josh Harris was installed as starting quarterback.

Most of us Falcon fans would date the true start of the new era with that day, a 17-0 win in Athens, Ohio.

The Falcons haven't lost since, and they've only failed to score more than 40 points once since that Ohio game.

I believe Bowling Green is one of the best teams in the country right now. Period.

I watched the OU game (taped it), and Harris was very impressive, but the OU defense was soft, too. What would happen if you got up against a team that has similar speed? What if you were up against a team with a really good passing game?
I've got 72 reasons why Bowling Green is a top10 team.

Seriously, I don't have a sense of how good Oklahoma is.

But if other people are right about Oklahoma, then I think that win against Missouri will end up a statement-type of win. In fact, it is very easy for me to picture Missouri in the Top 25 by season's end. That's a good football team.

That's my thinking.

Another question that only the rest of the season will answer is this: Will other coaches figure out Bowling Green? Or not?

I have this sense that maybe Urban Meyer has come up with a few things other coaches haven't come close to catching up with, yet. I'm no expert. It's just a hunch.

This looks to me like the best team in Falcon history, but we could look to '94 for an analogy. The Falcons came out of the gate like gangbusters that year -- but whatever magic BGSU had in September, opposing coaches seemed to figure it out by November.

The question -- and it's an open one -- is whether that will happen again.

I've only seen the team once this year. But that's where I'm coming from.
The great thing about BG's offense is we can open it up passing as good as anyone in the nation, we can play smash mouth football on the ground, and we have all those wonderful "trick" plays that haven't been used much in the last two games.

I won't get nervous if we fall behind with this offense...we will always be in the game. And our defense is just as good as last yr's #1 MAC D.

Dodo, congrats on your win over Cincy and the photo is great!!! I am going with Miami to win the East...I feel the Redhawks are the most balanced team, offensively and defensively, in the East. Conf USA...WHO'S YOUR DADDY??? GO FALCONS!! GO MAC!!!

Sahm was doing ok as the starter and Harris was just as good w/out the practice reps. Giving Harris the starting job put the Falcons well above what they wree before.

A little more speed and the dynamics change considerably. But BG has an unexpected mix of speed and power.
I'm concerned w/ all the injuries, I'd say that could easily hurt them in a big game. But put a healthy BG in a game, and I agree w/ RF, very few teams would win by more than a TD. Not many more would win period. And frankly there's a team in Columbus who at best would be expected to split a series w/ BG.

I'd love to see BG go undefeated and get a crack at ND.
Your backup tailback looked pretty good. I know Alls is very good, but I don't think Alls being out is going to cost you a game -- especially in the next few.
