“I’m glad we are playing Coach Mangino and Kansas in his first year and not in his fourth or fifth,” Meyer said"

Yeah, cuz then we'll beat Kansas by only 21 and not 40.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
Yeah, what a rut. Only four wins in a row versus BCS teams.
I think Meyer learned how to speak to the media from Lou Holtz. Remember how he used to say "we're not a very good football team" and they were winning almost every game they played?
rocketfootball...i think you nailed it there. Meyer is always saying how much work still needs done and "we aren't very good here or something is lacking there" kinda stuff. Remember when Holtz was coaching ND? He would make Navy sound like Fla St or someone...Bobby Bowden and Joe Pa do that alot too...come to think of it the legendary Doyt Perry was a master of motivation always challenging his players in that way.

Personally, and I'll admit I am immensely biased, I think this BG team may be the best in the MAC and certainly the best BG team since 1994...We smoked alot of teams that year except for NC State and CMU, Chips, don't bring it up, scoring 40 and 50 pts a game.
We have 10 games ahead of us and 4 are difficult MAC Rd games @ CMU, @ Kent, @ NIU and @ ut. Not too mention a trip to Tampa for USF. USF is a hard team to figure out. If they're hot, watch out! If they're cold, you'll bury them. I like Meyer's system of consistency...something Pinkel did very well with at ut.
Beat up the Rebels tomorrow...after all, you guys are "creampuffs" remember?
GO BG!! BEAT KANSAS!!!! GO MAC!! <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

The 1994 season was one of Bowling Green's best:

North Carolina State 20, Bowling Green 15
Bowling Green 45, Akron 0
Bowling Green 59, Navy 21
Bowling Green 30, Eastern Michigan 13
Bowling Green 38, Cincinnati 0
Bowling Green 32, Ohio 0
Bowling Green 31, Toledo 16
Bowling Green 59, Ball State 36
Bowling Green 27, Miami 16
Bowling Green 22, Kent State 16
Central Michigan 36, Bowling Green 33

To put this in perspective, you need to know that North Carolina State went 9-3, winnning a New Year's Day bowl game.

Damn, that was a good football team. The wheels just seemed to come off at the end.
