You guys are usually on top of things... scanned over and didn't see it posted - so here goes.

Sorry if previously posted.

East
#1 Marshall - 14th nationally
#2 Central Florida - 62nd nationally (umm... little gap there??)
#3 Miami - 72nd nationally
#4 Kent State - 84th nationally
#5 Akron - 89th nationally
#6 Ohio - 98th nationally
#7 Buffalo - 108th nationally (worse than, yes, Duke)

West
#1 Bowling Green - 44th nationally
#2 Toledo - 70th nationally
#3 Western Michigan - 75th nationally
#4 Ball State - 78th nationally
#5 Northern Illinois - 90th nationally
#6 Central Michigan - 103rd nationally (right before Duke)
#7 Eastern Michigan - 106th nationally (sub-Duke)
I'll post unit rankings for your team by request.
I'm sorry, but the 2nd best MAC team will not be ranked 44th in the country at season's end. Needs to give the MAC some credit. They gave Marshall credit, why not anyone else???
We're not the worst! We're not the worst!
Buffalo could beat EMU with their eyes closed...I think.
Some how, it just get the feeling that this TSN rating system is crap produced by crap (with the exception of Marshall)! We all know the MAC, and on any given Saturday, anyone can knock off anyone else. That being the case, how can Toledo be rated so rediculously low (as well as some other tradition-rich programs)? These rating systems are constructed by horrifically subjective individuals, undoubtedly from the BCS schools. <img border="0" alt="[Puke]" title="" src="graemlins/puke.gif" />
Chippewa,
I agree...as much as I despise toledo, the rockettes were in the last Top 25 of the year in 2001 and in 6 months with no games played they dropped 50 spots????????????? Puuhlease.
While I enjoy seeing BG at #44 preseason, this Falcon team should be in the Top 25 by the end of the year IF all goes according to plan. UCF, MIami and NIU should all be rated higher than they are. AND<<<< no MAC team is listed LAST!!!!
Kent has a nice ranking to start the year and I would love to see them beat Ohio St...probably won't happen but it would be too cool.
BG gets Ohio ST in 2003. GO BG GO MAC
1994, fat punter, remember? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
<img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" />

we'll never live that one down! 8 years later and is still sux! C ya in Mt Pleasant on 10/12
We paid for it the next year, at Florida - 82-6! I'll NEVER forget or forgive our former coach (Dick Flynn) for that debacle!

Yeah, I see we have you guys on Homecoming, too. Could be very interesting! It's always a great game between these two schools!

Think about it. What would Toledoh have been like with out Bolden and Taylor? Well, the BG game comes to mind. I'm not saying that Toledo doesn't have some up and coming talent. Indeed, every report I've seen indicates that they have a lot of good players. Unfortunately for the Rockettes, most of them have never played a full game since high school.

My prediction is for Toledo's 2002 team to look very reminiscent of Marshall's 2000 team. Despite the rhetoric coming from the athletic departments, teams other than those in the absolute elite of college football don't reload - they rebuild.
This should get some rave reviews:

Marshall Unit Rankings:

Offense
Backfield - 1st
Wide Receivers - 1st
Offensive Line - 1st
Overall - 1st

Defense
Defensive Line - 6th
Linebackers - 7th
Defensive Backs - 3rd
Overall - 3rd

Special Teams - 1st

Coaching - 1st
Let's just see where the teams shake-out by the end of the season, and then, look at these numbers again. To me, these numbers are scandalously "Arthur Anderson."

Sure we lost our D-Line, QB, and 2 running backs. However, our QB did get some playing time plus he played two years of junior college ball before last season. All of our wide receivers are back. Almost all of the offensive line is back.

Doesn't look to me like "practically our entire team graduated."
Miami (OH) is probably the most underrated, but otherwise no complaints. NIU and Toledo are the biggest ???. NIU never has me convinced (go back to the wishbone offense) while Toledo has bona fide questions w/ so many graduates.

BG needs to prove itself with it's very equitable OOC schedule. Missouri is no "gimee". Win and they'll move up.

UCF will probably drop w/ its tough OOC schedule, but it's probably ranked reasonably well right now.

You'll look very mediocre in the beginning of the season and improve as the year goes on. Of course, if I could predict the future, I would have won the Powerball a long time ago. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />
Seems like every year the "experts" pick Miami 3rd or 4th in the East (not counting Nick), and every year we're right in the hunt down to the end. We've only had one losing season since 1990.

I'm not saying we're going to beat Marshall in Huntington, but I do like our team this year.
