Don't know why no mentions yet
Actually there is a thread for it already.
 Nevermind. The thread is on the Toledo board, not the MAC forum.
May I just say that I've very recently determined CFN to be possibly the smartest, most knowledgeable and in depth college football service out there. I have absolutely no doubt that they know exactly what they're talking about. :D

Funny, but if you dig deeper and click on the Toledo link from our in the West position, which I could have sworn said we would be 3rd in the West before and now says Tied with BG for 2nd.. You will notice they have us losing to Minnesota, NIU, and Miami. They have us beating BG and going 6-2 in the MAC. They have BG losing to NIU and Toledo going 6-2 in the MAC.

Again, when this first came out I thought it said we were 3rd in the West. I could be wrong. If I am not wrong, how can you change your predictions once they are posted? I sure hope someone remembers what it said when it was first posted a few days ago and tells me I am wrong because that is crazy to change your predictions once they are posted.

Gotta agree with you rf....I remember when they said with all the talent and starters coming back for BG, NOBODY will touch BG. Then they predict a 6-2 record for us in the MAC?

Its a good thing this will be settled on the field.

44 days...Sooners or later!

I haven't gone back, but they did have UT 5-3 in the MAC and 7-4 overall, losing to Minny and your last three games vs. Miami, NIU and BG.

That's what I thought. Now they have us 6-2 in the MAC and beating BG. Not that I disagree with improving our record, but how can you have any credibility if you publish something and change it two days later? How can Fox Sports be afilliated with this place? 03-lol

Amen! Hallelujah! They see the light and
know the future.
EAST
T1. Marshall (7-1 in MAC, 8-3 overall)
T1. Miami (7-1, 8-3)
T3. Akron (4-4, 5-6)
T3. Kent State (4-4, 5-6)
T3. UCF (4-4, 4-7)
T6. Buffalo (1-7, 1-10)
T6. Ohio (1-7, 2-9)

WEST
1. Northern Illinois (8-0 in MAC, 10-1 overall)
T2. Bowl. Green (6-2, 8-3)
T2. Toledo (6-2, 8-3)
4. Ball State (3-5, 3-8)
T5. Eastern Mich (2-6, 4-7)
T5. Central Mich (2-6, 2-9)
T 5. West. Mich (2-6, 3-8)

....notice any problem? like that cfn.com can't add..

the east teams are predicted to go 28-28 in the MAC.
the west teams are predicted to go 29-27.

hmmm...how can that be?

in 56 conference games, the mac is predicted to win 57 times and to only lose 55 times!

now, that's some fancy figuring! must be an ohio u mathematician!
I think you meant the West teams were predicted to go 29-27, not 29-17.

Anyway, the writers probably go to the same proofing school as ESPN.com. They had UB listed as the Buffalo Rams on their college page.
Someone needs to tell CFN that Jon Rivera is no longer on the team.

I think CFN is only half-right about our running back situation. Yes, we are strong in the two-deep at tailback with Alex Haynes starting and Dontavious Wilcox backing him up. Fullback, though, is a different story. With Dee Brown opting to play only one sport (baseball), we're going to have a new starting fullback. We don't have anyone besides Brown who has significant experience at that position.

Other than that, I pretty much agree with the rest of CFN's preview. It would be nice if George O'Leary and the new coaching staff pulled a huge surprise by coaching UCF to a bowl game this season.

Quote:T2. UCF (4-4, 4-7)
Offense: To put it bluntly, this was the most disappointing offense in America last year. That should turn around as the painfully young offensive line of 2003 is now a year older and more experienced and the receiving corps is busting with good, athletic playmakers. The running backs are strong thanks to Alex Haynes and what seems like his 13th year as a Golden Knight. With more of an emphasis on the running game, he should have a fantastic year. The one question is quarterback where Steven Moffett and Jon Rivera have to perform far better than they did last year. Under O'Leary, the emphasis is on a crisper, more up-tempo offense faster in and out of the huddle.
Defense: Forgetting all the off-the-field problems that hit the whole team hard, the UCF defense had a nightmare of a time last year because it couldn't stop the run. This is a woefully undersized defense relying on speed and quickness to make plays. The only problem is that the great athletes get steamrolled over. The secondary will be tremendous led by safeties Atari Bigby and Peter Sands..
