"Whatever we think of Toledo, we have to give them credit for the pre-game atmosphere all over the campus. The tailgating was excellent. It seemed like every open space on the entire campus was taken over by tailgaters. And their Homecoming committee did an excellent job getting students to buy and wear the T-shirts specially created for that game. The slogan on the back--"See you at the game," was apparently very effective as they had a great student turnout. Hopefully, someday we will get our game days to be as much fun. Also, the renovated Glass Bowl is truly the class football facility of the league. It is a truly big-time stadium, especially exciting when it has a nearly full house as they had yesterday."

Interesting how this contrasts to the UNLV "fans" who criticized our atmosphere. I agree that the tailgating was as good as I have seen it. I myself was doing some grilling on my balcony. There were a lot of people getting wasted in frat row!
The tailgating was a little more active than the UNLV game. However, all the controversy from UNLV fans came about because of 1 UNLV fan that went to the game and posted his beliefs on their board. It only takes 1 bad apple to convince everyone else when the others were not at the game to see our University in person.

UNLV fans don't seem to show any respect anyway, but who can blame them with the team they have? They lost to New Mexico Saturday night.
Saturday certainly had more of "big time" feel to it than other pre-game tailgating. We got there a little later than usual because our other kids had games here at home and we did not get to leave until late afternoon, but by the time we got to stadium (about 6:30) it was apparent tailgating had been in full swing for some time. Our son said there were some activities around campus during week and in fact commented that he bet Friday and Sat. leading up to game were going to be good times. (He missed those by being at hotel) I am still looking forward to getting there early enough sometime to meet Oddball. Especially after seeing that he is famous enough to draw threats of violence. I have got to meet this guy. Well on to Orlando. Its been great so far.

UTdad.......when you say....on to Orlando......does that mean you are heading down there for the game?

If so....I'll be there!!!

Send me a PM :D
I recall when that UNLV fan posted about our crappy campus and that had to be because of sour grapes. Sure our campus isn't the size of a B11 campus, but it is very nice. In 2000 it was voted in the top 22 most beautiful campuses in the nation.
Also, some FYI, IMSU has a very active train track that runs right through the campus. I get stuck there almost every morning on my way to work. At least our track isn't used much. (Is there any possiblilty of getting that ripped out in the near future? Maybe since the new dorm, due 2005, is suppose to sit in that area. That would be a nice touch to the campus.)

- GO ROCKETS -
That was suppose to be MSU as in Michigan State University.

Just wanted to correct my mistake.
