Nice win! 04-bow
Nice fumbles.

That said, akron did play well enough to win. We have no D.

Oh well, this makes the Miami game very important. 04-drinky No I go to feel better. 04-drinky 04-drinky 04-drinky

Many of those fumbles were strips. Akron did better than "playing well enough to win". The Herd just got kicked in the jimmy.
04-bow Zips, I commend you! 04-cheers
0-4 vs. 4-0

Good game plan. Good execution. Congrats!
I watched the game and

mucho credit to the Zips.

Without BL, Marshall was very ordinary. Hard to watch him gimping around out there.
The Zips OL manhandled the Herd DL pretty much all game.
You take BL away from Marshall and there is not much to brag about left.

04-cheers here's to you Akron!

gotta admit though, even though Sandwich was hurt, it was pretty entertaining seeing his O-Line carry him around
As much as it hurts to say it.. NICE WIN ZIPS!

I just wish that once my Flashes would nut it up and win one of these that they're not supposed to.

Way to go Zippies in playing the spoiler and making the East interesting down the strecth.

BTW, I like the new unis, too.

(I must be ill today. I said two nice things about the ZIppies in one day in one post. Yuck.) 03-confused
Nice win Zips.

Lousy timing, though. Would have been nice to have the MAC w/ 2 ranked teams. You guys shoulda done this back in 2000.

Oh well, hope this gives a spark to your recruiting and program.
Big win Zips!!! 04-bow 04-cheers 04-bow

Marshall puts the pressure on themselves and is forced to rely on the guy just arrested this week. Bad timing, to say the least.... 04-drinky 03-banghead
Yes! May I also congratulate the ZIPS! 04-bow That win helped draw my attention away from the (yet another) Bronco debacle today. Good job!
It was truly a long day today :crying: Akron was ready and again Marshall just did not show up to play ball  Someone needed to step up for the Herd when BL went down and it was plain to see that it is not Stan Hill.
Congrats to Akron you played a great game 04-cheers
Like I've said before...Stan Hill will either be the back-up QB next year...or he will transfer.
The Herd found out what it's like not to have BL moving their offense -- something us Broncos know all too well (from this past year).

Akron looked like a team on a mission today. I was really impressed with how well they played. Akron deserved to win that game with or without the four turnovers. I've seen Marshall play several games similar to this over the past few years and we finally had a MAC east team take adavantage of it.

I didn't realize how important this game was to the Herd until I realized that even if Miami beat Marshall they would still have to face CFU -- and if CFU beat Miami, Marshall would once again back into the MACC game. This game puts Miami in a position where if they win next week they have the east pretty much wrapped up.
Congrats Zips.
It's refreshing to see a 1-7 team come out and play as confident and inspired as the Zips did today. Clearly Akron wanted the win more than Marshall did. Although MU did shoot themselves in the foot OVER and OVER again...you have to credit Akron for forcing some of the mistakes and being able to take advantage of them.
Hats off to Byron. I sure hope heisman voters witnessed his performance today. After today's effort, I hope we don't see any more idiots on here questioning Byron's toughness and adversity to taking physical abuse.
I'm still waiting for the Herd to show up for 4qtrs. Better happen on the 12th or the MACC will be held in Oxford.
Go Herd!
Classy post, FMJ. It will be a "biggie" next week in H-ton! Here's hoping tha both the Herd and the RedHawks end up bowling, not matter what the outcome! 03-wink
03-banghead Two MAC teams in the Top 25 during the season! Short lived!!

Got to give a ton of cedit to Akron on this won. Regarless of how Marshall may have shot themselfs in the foot, Akron scored 34 points!!! Unreal!!!

The nationally televised game between Marshall and Miami will probably determine the East winner. Well, my wife recently received her master's from Miami - guess who will be supporting at that one? Besides, if Miami wins, I'm 20 minutes to the MAC Championship Game in Oxford!!! 04-cheers
FANTASTIC job, Akron! 04-bow Watching that game was the most fun I've had all season. I'm sure the Herd spin will involve their team not coming to play. But fact is, the Zips outplayed them, period.

Great win for Akron....onward and upward, Zips!
Thanks fellas...and let me tell you how good it feels! Man, I can relax at last...hopefully we'll win out and Owens will keep his job. I agree with Coach Pruett. 04-cheers
