You can answer this question in either of two ways:

1. Which program would you MOST like to kick out of the MAC right now?

or

2. Which program would you would LEAST mind seeing disappear from the MAC (in the event, for instance, of an inability to meet NCAA attendance standards)?

I'll tally up the votes and pronounce a winner sometime next week -- either when the thread goes cold or by a deadline to be announced later.

I anticipate I'll keep asking the question until we can work the MAC down to a nice, tight, eight-team league.

Who will be in that slimmed down MAC? Keep an eye out for updates and new polls.

Let me anticipate questions:

1. Do you mean kicked out of the league for just football or for all sports?

I'll leave that open to interpretation. Football is clearly the issue here. But answer the question either way you like.

2. Why did you only offer ten choices?

That's all this bulletin board system allows. I added charter member Ohio this week, leaving only old time members Miami and Western Michigan off the list. They will be added to future polls as space allows.

3. Do you think members should be kicked out?

No. I might not cry if new attendence regs devour a couple of the weakest members of our herd, but I'm actually tired of people coming in suggesting THIS revamp or THAT revamp of the MAC lineup.

Now go vote! And feel free to post thoughts in this thread. In fact, I recommend it.
I'm still voting for Akron, although Orlando State -- hardly located in Middle America -- is tempting. See the previous round for my discourse on Akron and the MAC.
Why aren't all MAC members on the list? Frankly, I'd say EMU should drop football to I-AA, if I had to make a choice. It's become clear that EMU can't compete with Michigan and apathy for fans, and the Eagles have had exactly one winning season in the past 15 years!

Having said that, I'd keep the MAC as-is, unless someone is forced to leave (attendance requirements, economics, etc.) or decides to leave.
Because Eastern Michigan got booted in the first round.

This is Round 3.
Why get rid of Akron? Our baseball team is improving with a new coach, and our football team is having a down year...but is getting better every week.

Our soccer team has won the MAC countless times this past decade, our volleyball team is oustanding, and our men's basketball team is peaking again. Track is always good, with two All-Americans and a National Champion last year.

Akron is a competitor in the MAC year after year...whether they win or lose.
I can't pick Akron over FUC. I just can't do it.

Akron fits much better than UCF

RF: Ah... :o ...sorry, I don't watch Survivor, guess I missed the point...
Akron is ridiculous! :D
But I'm not voting them out... 03-wink
UCF should be all-sport, but I just can't see all the minor sports making those trip to Florida or their teams with nothing BUT ridiculous road trips.
If they are staying as football only, well, it's OK now but in the long run would have to end. :(
Bye Bye Knights--we hardly knew ye!

I changed my mind from last week. I liked the all sports MAC, so UCF gets the boot. However, Akron is next based on everything I said in Rnd 2. 03-razz

And that's any dumber than the 6 idiots who voted for Toledo? This is a stupid (but amusing) thread. It's bound to produce stupid results.
Or any dumber than the 3 who decided to thorw out the strongest overall athletic progam in the conference, the one that got the MAC more fame and recognition last spring than any other team has in any sport, period.

03-lol
The only conceivable reason that someone voted to oust CMU is because
Melissa Stark gave CE head in the tunnel of Lambeau Field, before the Packer-Dolphin game. Jealousy is no reason to vote against a Chippewa!
