I watched the Marshall/Akron game on Fox Sports and I can't believe there was more than 10K at that game. It was embarrassing for the MAC to have that game on TV. Every time the showed the crowd, or non-crowd I was amazed. Come on Akron! This was against Marshall. What kind of crowds do you have when you play Buffalo?
Miami led the MAC in attendance this weekend playing our ol' rival the Bobcats..........guess I was wrong about Miami not being able to easily host a crowd of over 26K without lots of "help" from the opposing fans showing up "en masse". 04-bow
That's pretty good. About 6k over your average!

rocketfootball - I concur. I too saw the broadcast via Fox Sports and you're being kind at a 10,000 guess. It looked more like 5K to me.

What is embarassing to the MAC is to have two Top 25 teams in the leauge play in front of announced crowds of 13,455 and 7,165!
The MAC will never be taken seriously on a national level when you have quality teams and no one show up watch them play.
I saw the Marshall - Akron highlights on ESPN this morning. They did a pretty good job of not showing the empty seats, but it is kind of hard to do at the Rubber Bowl.
I must agree. To many people worry about the Ohio States and Michigans and don't follow their own home teams. I try to make it to every home Falcon football game each year. It's sad to see so little fan support. 03-banghead
I caught the last half of the Akron-Marshall game on FSN and was impressed by the clever angles being utilized by the crew. Still, from what I saw that attendance figure is inflated by at least 2x. As for EMU's attendance, there were no more than 5k at that game.

The people on this board are amazing!
Lots of them have perfected the art of estimating crowds while watching TV!
How did you perfect this skill?
How did you check yourself out?
What's more amazing is that everyone's estimates always suit their points of view!
In Florida, the crowds are always bigger than they were counted. In rival towns, the crowds at other schools are always lower than they were counted.
It's a remarkable skill, really.
Nay, not a skill, an art form!
My hat's off to you!

Crowd counts are always bigger than the number of butts in the stands. That's true at Kent State football games. That's true at Detroit Lions games.

Why do people always insist on saying, "well, there weren't that many people there." Duh. I could have told y'all that without seeing any television footage. It's basically always true.

(Except, apparently, at Orlando State :D )
UCF has had problems with counting the student attendance. Some sort of computer problems. We had probably 28K for Liberty, 22K of Toledo, 20K for Akron, and 29K against Syracuse.

Pitt/Kent fan

20+ is not bad but that has to look pretty bad in the citrus bowl, that place was pretty big! I can't talk though my Pitt has crowds of about 30+ and it does not look so hot in the 60+ seat Heinz "yellow Mustard" Bowl
