The Orlando sentinel mentions that there was probably only 2K people at the game. Come on Buffalo! We have high school teams that have 3X that on a regular basis.

Here is an article about the atmosphere. <a href='http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/college/knights/orl-sptucfside10111002nov10,0,5790322.story?coll=tf%2Dknights' target='_blank'>Comments about the game</a>
B)
What would be your guess on the attendance figures at your place if you averaged less than 2 wins per season for the next five years?
And then in that year, were 0-fer league? And it was November and you were no longer in Florida, but in Buffalo, NY? And you were playing a .500 team that nobody locally ever heard of and you have almost no history with?
Take a guess? 03-wink
Quote:All the Golden Knights knew is that it just didn't feel like college football. The place was low on fans, fanfare and Fahrenheit (51 degrees). The cold, clinical atmosphere was more conducive to the activity taking place on a nearby field: A trap-shooting contest.

What a strange article. He really needs to get out of central Florida once in a while. It was actually a perfect afternoon for college football. Is he actually calling 51 degrees cold?
03-lol The writer was almost blaming the atmosphere for UCF's sluggish 3 quarters. UB had only 11 seniors on the team for Senior Day, 6 of them starters. They had a freshman rush for 119 yards and 3 touchdowns, another freshman recover a fumble and grab an interception. Other teams (notably Marshall and Miami) put their games away early against UB.

:crying: UCF had the talent to blow UB out of the stadium, but were trailing 21-14 midway through the 3rd quarter. :D

I hope the players and coaching staff are a little more focused on their games ahead because if they were actually distracted by the "cold clinical atmosphere", then they'll have a tough time with any away MAC games the rest of the year.

Maybe the "clinical atmosphere" was caused the the nearby medical school, dental school, or pharmacy school. Definately not the law school. Oh that's right. The UCF students are not familiar with those programs as their commuter campus doesn't have such programs.

Sorry if I sound bitter. Is it BB season yet?
whatever....

Average incoming GPA 3.6
Average incoming SAT 1155

not bad for a school 30 years old with 39K students.
High standardized test scores are nice but the don't tell the complete picture about a school. In the latest U.S.News and world report, UCF recieved a low academic reputation school from other university presidents. A score that would place UCF at the bottom of the MAC academically, and far behind the Big 3 of the MAC: Miami, Ohio, and Buffalo.

KC
Low reputation, which would undoubtedly be due to the extremely young age of the university.

Young university -> less alumni -> less people in the field -> less people they are familiar with who went there.

Doesn't take rocket science to put that simple logic together -- then again, I had a strong SAT that got me into UCF 03-wink

And yes, 51 is damn near frigid. Make fun of us if you like, but do a little research and you'll find quality programs like Miami (fl) are god awful statistically in that kind of weather, despite being 501/801 as a football program (not to mention a 31 game winning streak.. w00t!.. sorry, both parents went to UM, born and raised cane until i went to UCF)

Maybe it's the "less" people taking English classes. 03-wink

(Hey, we kid because we care! 04-cheers )
