With a few exceptions, it appears that most non-Herd fans feel that Miami was seriously hosed last night. However, there is a difference of opinion regarding why it happened.
Take a look over on the ESPN MAC Board. Every single person that's not a Herd fan thought Miami was robbed.
You neglected to include a third choice, which would be "it was a good call"

Not only was it a good call, but the 2nd PI was a deliberate attemt to knock Watts off his feet. Moreover, their should have been an unnecessary roughness call on the defender on that play!
I say the first PI call was legit. The second one was BS though.

Yeah, sure. And OJ should have had his legal bill reimbursed by the LAPD because of malicious prosecution.

I only included legitimate choices. "Good call" would have been pandering to a bad element.

The second one was inconsequential. The draw would still have made it to the endzone as he cleared the line by more than a yard when he jumped over it.

Nice juke on Tubalard with the pump fake before the draw. Gave Hill a step on him and he couldn't recover.

If you say it enough, it must be true!

"We don't cheat!"
"We self-reported!"
"It's a done deal!"
"What bad calls?"
Personally, I don't think it was a conspiracy or anything pre-meditated. I'm guessing the refs screwed up, with possibly some subconscious swaying by the roaring home crowd. But what's done is done. I was a pretty disturbed last night, but this morning it's just another game (and one that didn't even feature my favorite team to begin with).

MUther's tagline = "WMU - a has been if they ever were a once was" 03-confused

Edit that post and fix up that grammar and sentence structure, young man! 05-nono

I thought the topic is about officiating at a football game, not WMU's dismal current record.

Is that better? I only wrote that in response to some of your fanmates stirring up crap about games that happened in the past. And as in those games, 60 minutes of ball needed to be played no matter where the game location was. Both of those MACC games were WMU's to take. To suggest that referees had anything to do with those losses is ridiculous as it is for the current topic at hand.
If you're angry with those who blasted Marshall's players, cussed at Herd posters, used personal attacks, or whatever, in the aftermath of last night's game, that's one thing. But the discussion about the officiating is legit, whether you agree with the calls or not. If you think this lively debate is only happening amongst "MACsters", guess again. I suggest you look around other sources.

ESPN announcers questioned the calls. Fans on the Virginia Tech board, who care very little about either squad, thought Miami got hosed. Ditto TheSabre (the Virginia board). Even some posters on the CUSA board - a place where pro-Marshall sentiment generally runs high - are debating the calls. Even on the Buckeye Rivals Board, hardly a board where you'd find praise for neighboring Ohio MAC teams, questioned the calls. If this current topic is so "ridiculous", then there are a lot of ridiculous people across the country. (Of course, being the only game on the tube last night helped widespread viewership)

That said, I also don't think anyone is discounting the good level of play shown by Herd players, and Miami players, last night. Sure, controversial calls and a post-game scrum involving a coach is going to overshadow the stats of the game, but what did you expect? In another day (or two), the debate over the PI calls will die down considerably. It's a mere 24 hours after the game, and I have already started growing tired of the topic.
The last few plays really reminded me of when the Russian Olympic basketball team beat the US Olympians in Munich. The officials were just going to keep giving them another shot until they scored.

Oops, you didn't make it that time - here's the ball try again, oh - do you need another try? One more time? OK - here you go!

Sleepy, that impression seems to be fading among folks. If you read what was written directly after the game, it seems that people could see how deliberate it was. You could just tell that the flags would fly until Marshall scored.

After some time to cool off, people start to temper that opinion because it just seems so incredible that something like that could happen. But, imo, the first impression was accurate.

See "the picture"
Looks like you missed the third and correct option. Of course, being wrong is something you should be used to but, given the fact that I've never seen you admit it, maybe you're not used to it. Oh well, argue with this little boy.

Nice picture. So what?
If the ball doesn't get to the receiver, does that nullify pass interference? 03-lol
