If Marshall wins this weekend, there is a decent chance they will be back in the top 25. Several teams directly in front of them have very difficult games this week.

The MAC should have known the chances of this happening with the MCB early in the negotiations. Look back at the last few years and you will find cases where the Big11 couldnt have fulfilled this contract. It is great to have a contract with the Big11 for the MCB, but it is very bad in 12 game seasons with the 6-6 rule.
Given the alternatives, I can't blame the MCB for signing up with the B10....otherwise we'd just be looking at an at large situation (really no better) or some crummy 6-6 type C-USA team at best. The fact is that the MCB will never be a "preferred" bowl destination for any opponent, so if they'd gone "at large" before the season we'd be in pretty much the same position.

It also is bad luck that both BG and NIU played (and got creamed by) USF, plus of course if you have a bad match-up (fan interest wise), it'd help if a near-by MAC team was hosting........we probably won't have that luxury, either this year although if Marshall beats NIU in the MACC then they can still invite BG or Toledo.

It's just some bad luck that there won't be a leftover SEC team or something.
Look at who they got when they were at Large. Mississippi and BYU. Those were not bad schools.
