From Gene W's article, <a href='http://msn.espn.go.com/magazine/geno_index.html' target='_blank'>click here</a>:
Let's get this straight: Conference USA has five bowl tie-ins (New Orleans Bowl, GMAC Bowl, ConAgra Foods Hawaii Bowl, Houston Bowl and the AXA Liberty Bowl), and the MAC only has two (GMAC and Motor City Bowl)? With the exception of TCU, we'd take the MAC's Miami, Marshall, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green and possibly Toledo over C-USA's bowl-eligible teams: Tulane, Louisville, Southern Miss. . . .

Possibly Toledo? Hmmm...

Hopefully, starting with this Saturday, the Rockets win 4 straight games. :D
03-lol Nice pic! 03-lol

Odd ,,, do I detect some hostility here?

Guest

I see no hostility in my message. I want my team to defeat NIU and BG to retain the MAC West title. Then I want them to win the MACC and go on to win a bowl. What's hostile about that?
Oddy, I am certainly not feelin' the love..... 03-lol

All this talk of wanting to "beat" NIU.....why can't we all just get along??

Guest

Well, we can get along next week, assuming the officials from the MUMU game aren't there, of course. This week I must respectfully hate your guts, Dan. :D

Oddball I have to admit you hate Marshall just as much as UCF hates USF. As much as WVU hates Marshall as well. Nice Billboard Ad! 03-wink
Pretty funny stuff Oddball. Your name fits you pretty well

04-cheers
WVU doesn't exactly hate Marshall as much as they simply don't acknowledge their existence. Marshall hates WVU because WVU gets all the state's press and attention, even when MU has the better teams, like last year when both FB and BB were better.
It's like UK and L'ville. UK likes to pretend U-L doesn't exist, though they did finally start to play tem in recent years. WVA will never play Marshall unless they are forced to. It's a no-win for them--you are supposed to beat them because you are the big bad U, and if you don't you look really bad--AND lose some key recruiting battles as a consequence, too.

You also have to consider that WVU already plays a "rival" game against Maryland non-conference. The WVU fan base extends into Western Maryland, and many dumb kids from the Baltimore-Washington area go to WVU. Geographically Morgantown and Huntington are to distinct areas. Morgantown has more in common with Wheeling and Pittsburgh, not southern at all. Huntington is right next door to Kentucky, and not far from Tennesse. A better rival is Ohio, who has a regional campus near Huntington and both recruit many of the same areas. Pruett has said he wants to keep the Marshall-Ohio game no matter if Marshall jumps to CUSA, Big East, or whatever.

Ask any HERD fan if they'd rather play WV-WHO or OU and I doubt anyone would pick the Bobcats. No offense to your program...but Axeme was right. Most of us HATE 03-puke WV-WHO!! :saber: :saber: :saber:

That's just because we haven't been very good yet. Thats begining to change though.

It is????
Not counting your wins against EMU, Buffalo, Kent :crying: , and Akron, which are hardly indicative of anything except that you aren't among the VERY worst scum-sucking division I football teams in the country, what exactly is the evidence that it is "beginning to change"?
The only plus I see is a fluky end of year schedule that has you momentarily under the illusion that you might possibly be having a good year.
On the football field you have beaten.....who?

(OK, KitKat, 04-cheers
when you upset the HERD, I'll be on here groveling and bowing and taking back everything I said, but if you lose your last two--very highly likely the way I see it-what would be the positives Knorr gets to take out of this season? "We were in it until the last two games"? "We only lost by four touchdowns to a depressed Gator team"? That ain't exactly a turnaround of the program...)
:D
Positives? Easy! "We quadrupled our win total from last year!"

(Hey, sometimes you've got to think like a marketing major -- or James Carville.)
