That's right sportsfans, Lee Owens, the man who went 0-2 against the worsttwo teams in the MAC West and who has won 8 games out of his last 23 was kept on the job today at Akron U. Owens was said to be beside himself sa he now enters his 9th season as Zip coach and the next to last season of 1A football at AU. Given to the explosive crowds at the Rubber Bowl to see the Owens brigade play this season the Zip program has been contacted by the Harlem Globetrotters and by American Gladiators about being

Akron Obsessed is also said to be excited that her husband will have a job for another year, defying the odds that said that a learning disabled person could hold a full-time D-1 coaching job for a year shy of a decade. Ticket sales at Akron U will probably exceed 1,000 fans per game for the 2003 season with the hope of breaking the 15,000 barrier by combining the 6 games to be played at home.
Marshall head coach Bob Pruett is said to be elated that Owens will bring the Zip team to Greentown next season, as Pruett is 7-1 all-time against Akron and will no doubt not have to worry about the Zips contending for a MAC title for at least another 5 years as the Owens led recruiting class of 2007 will be comproised mainly of Junior College criminals and rejects from the HS ranks who have no where else to go. The poor recruiting will be a result of none of the Akron U coaches doing jack splat for the last month as they all thought they were going to get fired so why bother.
