tell it like it is Byron.

I'd sure like to see Terry Hoepner's ballot.

First of all theres no way Darius Watts should have been first team, He made some good catches. But how about moving Josh Davis up to first team, or Carl Ford, or Doug Gabriel.

And who really cares, there are 14 teams in the MAC and each of them have some great players. You have 14 coaches voting, some people are going to get missed.

Byron is a moron for getting so pissed off about it. Use it as motivation against Toledo? Well, they're gonna need all the motivation they can get. So I guess they gotta search somewhere.
Ah, it's always "something", (as in wrong with the MAC), isn't it, Marco.

The MAC had a meaningless Herd-BSU game on TV last week, and you're hosting the MACC this weekend. You've brought up the Miami "mess" (i.e. Wauford) at every opportunity yet you still search for the vast anti-Herd conspiracy out there. Keep looking.
Duran Smith is 2nd in the nation in tackles. Seems like a pretty gross oversight.
Does it ever occur to anyone that maybe, just maybe there are a lot of good football players in the MAC and that making all conference is difficult and making 1st team is even more difficult?

I dunno, just a thought.

Smart move. Give Marshall players some extra motivation against Toledump. I've got a feeling we're finally going to see the Marshall team we've been waiting on for most of the season. They showed flashes of it against Ball State but, against Toledump, they're going to be out for blood. Saturday simply cannot get here soon enough.
What an ass.

I just lost a LOT of respect for Leftwich. He used to come across as confident and likable. Now he just sounds like a whiner.

There are other factors besides number of tackles. Last year, our linebackers made a ton of tackles, but that was because our D-line was so horrid.

Number one pass D? Who gives a crock? That doesn't mean you have the best players on pass D. It just means teams didn't throw often against you, mostly because they felt confident they could run. The coaches who voted only four of you this year are the same ones who voted nine of you last year. These coaches vote a LOT based on how certain players performed AGAINST them.

God, you'd think the guy might have something else to worry about.
How about this then. He was the leading tackler in the conference on the #2 overall defense in the conference. There is no valid reason for him not to be 1st team. None.

Maybe he's gay.

(NOT that there's anything wrong with that.)
It is more likely that you are an idiot.

Strangely enough, I got quite the snub on the ALL MAC FAN IDIOT team. Didn't even get honorable mention.

Not surprisingly, Marshall was well-represented here.
Quote:"Everybody want to know the truth?" asked Leftwich. "We had so many players on there last year and we teed so many coaches off in our conference ...

The illogic of this is staggering.

Let's see, the coaches were angry at their own votes last year--"I can't believe I voted for those Marshall players! I am so angry with myself that next year I will only vote for 10 to be first or second team!"

The horror of this injustice is sweeping the nation!

Arnol, uh,.... Byron, Byron, Byron......don't cry little buddy... :crying:

GO HERD!! (Probationary Style)
This is what is illogical. NIU has 4 1st teamers and 2 2nd teamers from the 7th ranked defense in the conference. 2 DB's on the 1st team from the 12th ranked passing D in the country.

This clearly shows that no real thought or research went into these awards. I will also agree that one of the biggest snubs is leaving UCF's Gabriel off 1st Team Offense. The biggest has to be leaving McPeek off completely after having a great year and being 1st team last year. That is just plain robbery.
Byron, please spare us the martyr routine once and for all. "I'm givin' up my All-MAC selection as a protest for my comrades in action." If it's any consolation to the poor soul, he (and several other of his "slighted" teammates) will be making a higher salary than every MAC coach very soon.

This is nothing new from Leftwhine. A couple years ago he went on a similar rant when he wasn't selected to the All-MAC first-team as a sophomore.

I'll tell you what's petty, is using that ridiculous coaches' poll as "motivation" (enter Rocky theme) for the MACC. Although I'm sure he found nothing wrong with one team hosting 5 of 6 MACCs.
I don't know Roberta...you got one of my votes!! :)

If where a player is ranked nationally counts, Dodo, then it's a travesty that Brian Jones isn't first team QB.
I think we can all agree these Awards have proven themselves to be nothing more than a complete sham.

Well at least the Knights now know what to expect in the future...
Funny, the official MAC stats have his as the #2 tackler in the conference behind Tom Ward.

Also, if Smith should be there, shouldn't NIU's Akil Grant be on there? After all, he's 5th in tackles and the top DB tackler on the best rushing D in the conference.

As far as DBs, Thompson and Drew are on there because they're 1-2 in MAC INTs and 1-4 in passes defended. I figure Bigby is on there because all the coaches just love his hair!
