HuskieDan,
Turner is a hell of a player and was on alot of lists for best running back and the CFN POY. Pretty good for a guy who was projected as 2nd string.
So much for the conspiracy theory tubby! :crying: Still hope you get drafted by the Bears! Just keep your mouth shut when you get here. 05-nono
Quote:Leftwich is 517 passing yards shy of the MAC single season record of 4,132 yards he set last year. With 50 more passing yards, he will become the league's all-time leader as he has 11,250, just behind the 11,299 of Western Michigan's Tim Lester from 1996-99. Last week, Leftwich became the league's career leader in total offense with 11,408 yards.
Do states from championship games count? If they do, I'll be rooting like hell for him to put at least 518 against Toledump on Saturday.
Mako, Championship game stats do count. As of this year, bowl game stats also count.

I'd be interested to know how many games the original record was set in - Lefty didn't have 12 like most others, but he will have 13 by the time the year is up.

Turner's record was officially set in 12 games, but only had 8 carries against Wake (backing up Turner) and 10 against WMU (hurt his ankle). And we get him back next year!! Now, if we could just get a QB that could sling it around like Jones or Ben.

BTW - our QB Josh Haldi played all season with partially torn ligaments in his throwing hand and had surgery this week. He injured it on the last offensive play of the 1st half in our Wake game, and played all year with a wrap on that hand.
That's another benefit of winning.

I can't believe not one other player in this conference received a vote.
Although I didn't care for Lefty's "whining" about the all-MAC team (let's face it, the Herd was well represented), I still admire his talent and guts, and wish him the best in the NFL. I've been impressed with him ever since that Miami-Herd game last year in Oxford where Lefty and his fine receivers essentially were the difference in the game, many times on 3rd and long.

As always I am hoping that the MAC wins ALL of our bowl games!
Looking at the list of past winners, its nice to see that MU players Moss, Pennington and Leftwich have won the award 4 out of the 6 years that we have been back.
It really demonstrates the gap in quality of skill players between MUG and the rest of the MAC.
UCF, thats how you do it, not with your mouths but on the field, championships and all conference awards.

But yet, the coaches or whoever is voting on these things have it out for Marshall because not enough of Byron's pals made the all-conference squads... 03-razz

Samford and who else one the award the past six years? Prentice? Wallace?

And you wonder why fans of other MAC schools sometimes gang up on the Herd.

With all due respect, this is the most pompous-assed thing I've seen written... well, today.
Byron whining about everything :crying:
Everyone hates us :crying:
The MAC sucks :crying:
We're going to the national championship :crying:
Is it saturday yet, so we can hear some more whining? :withstupid:
We don't wonder....we expect it.

It's been that way since the I-AA HERD moved up, joined the MAC and started kicking butt and taking names.

People don't like that. People don't know how that could happen.
Marshall had a very fine plan in place as far as making the move to I-A. No one outside of HERD fans expected it. The scary part is.....we're still progressing and that means people will hate us that much more.
:snore:
Wake up...we're playing for the CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!! 04-cheers 04-cheers
Ahhhh it continues 03-banghead 03-banghead

We all <a href='http://www.marshall.edu/parthenon/archives/20000208/news/ncaa.html' target='_blank'>know what that plan was</a>, too. And, yes, apparently it does indeed continue.
It will continue in about 30 hours. 04-cheers
