This shows the pathetic state of BGSU athletics! I could see a coach leaving for a BCS job where he can win a national championship, but Utah?! The guy must have been trying to get out of there as fast as he could. At least Pinkel stayed here for a decade and went to a BCS program. Looks like BG will have to cut a few more sports to afford a new coach.
Seriously, Utah isn't a bad job. They aren't in a BCS league, but the are "the U" as Utahns call it, they're the big money state school out there. They also have had a pretty solid program the last few years, been in bowl games etc. It's just that from our perspective over in the midwest they get overshadowed by CSU's presence on ESPN.
Thing is, I thought UM was more of a midwest guy than a rockies guy. And college football being a very regional thing that he would be aiming for more of a midwest job.
