What tremendous support the city of Mobile gives to this bowl!
The MAC contract w/ the GMAC bowl is now up...if we can't get AT LEAST the guaranteed 5 year deal CUSA received Chryst should tell 'em to go jump off a bridge. The MAC has outclassed CUSA on the field and in the stands both years! If we as the MAC can't further solidify our bowl tie-ins after the MAC's performance and CUSA lack of performance, something is wrong!

BTW, I'd say AT LEAST 4-5 MAC schools Marshall played this year would have destroyed that Louisville team Wednesday night. I hope all my Marshall to CUSA buddies got a good look at the quality of play at the top of CUSA and compare that to our games against Toledo, Miami, Ohio and UCF.

Now bring on 2003! Trips to Obknoxiousville, Baton Rouge then into MAC play with a biggie in Orlando! Can't wait!

Good job! I think the MAC is only going to get stronger every year. It's looking like the MAC was the right decision for UCF.

I hear the UCF/Marshall game might be on Thursday next year....ESPN!

I agree with FMJ in that keeping a MAC tie-in with the GMAC would be a wise move (both on the part of the bowl and the MAC). The reason is that the local community supports this bowl like crazy, and in most years the GMAC can get a fairly local (So. Miss for example) C-USA team to help attendance.

The Herd have supported this game well, but even if another MAC team with slightly less support went, but had an exciting team, I think you could've expected a sell-out or near sell-out. I for one would love to go down to Mobile if the RedHawks were fortunate enough to get into this bowl game next year.

C-USA has been a disappointment again and again, both on the field and at the gate (in bowl games)............I do wonder what will happen with the New Orleans Bowl.......I guess they have already lost the Houston Bowl but will pick up the host slot in the new Fort Worth Bowl to initiate next year (and the opponent apparently willl be selected from the WAC/MAC or MWC. That is exactly what the NO Bowl should do......have the SunBelt champ play vs. a more open-ended selection process that could include the MAC and C-USA.
