We have talked here at length about the advantages of playing in the GMAC bowl. I thought you might want to know that C-USA fans feel it is the best of their 5 bowl tie-ins also. I've cut-n-paste a typical fans remarks about the GMAC bowl to give you an idea about why it is such a success.

GO CARDS!

Re:GMAC VS. LIBERTY ?
blevins, I too had beach front property at a beautiful resort on the Gulf. Game night conditions were much nicer than last year as the weather was perfect. The people down there were extremely nice and openly friendly. It's apparent every citizen of Mobile feels it's their duty to insure the bowl is a success - or maybe they're really just that friendly. Anyway, if that's "Southern Hospitality" - sign me up.

The "fireworks" of last year's game saved that bowl as far as I'm concerned. While the citizens of Mobile displayed great hospitality, the experience wasn't nearly as pleasant. The night turned quickly and surprisingly cold as the wind really got nasty. Stadium loudspeakers were loud enough so citizens in Biloxi, MS (60 miles away) could listen to the announcements while enjoying a beverage on their patio. And did we ever listen to announcements. Seems every swinging dick that ever thought about football at one time in his life was allowed a cameo spot on the big screen. We heard from the coaches, assistant coaches, the mayor, the governors of the respective states (plural), athletic directors, former players, presidents' of the universities, Ditka, Gottfried, some old dude that played for Ohio University (WTF?), and the list literally goes-on-and-on. It was definitely a Cecil DeMille and his cast of thousands production.

However, the bowl did learn from that experience. No endless announcements this year and, THANK HEAVENS, someone at the stadium learned how to control the volume -- again, the weather was perfection. My attire -- a Marshall Rugby shirt. Aw yes.
