 Now you have to promise you'll never mention the fact to the 'Neer fans that you finished one spot higher than them in both polls, OK?

Congrats!
You ARE the MAC Daddy (of one MAC sport anyway) but of course it's basketball season now and we can rightfully turn our attention to.....
Your right Axme, we STINK in B-Ball and I don't know why. It seems like we have good athletes but can never get anything going. I have been a surporter of Coach White but maybe he is part of the problem. Boy, August seems so far away.
Well, a win today and you not only kncok off a potential MAC power, but you go 2-0. Team needs to believe it can win the big games and somewhere, somehow, has to find a way to play team defense with some tenacity. They tend to cheat too much on defense (and I mean that in a non-NCAA rule breaking way 03-wink ) and also break down after one or two "helps" or else they don't get to the help in the first place. It just looks like a coaching problem. It may not be--White may not have the kind of players who will learn that kind of D. Some players have focused so completely on offense and simple one one on D that you can't break those habits. It is very hard to instill defensive sensibiliites in players who are used to being the show in high school where they could get by on athletic talent and individual basketball skills. Or else it's coaching.
Did I mention it could be coaching? :D

This is a hella day for Marshall fans all over the state to see those final rankings. After all the fights that will now break out the dentist we have left can go ahead and leave.
Thanks for the kind words from our MAC family.
Congrats to the Herd...........19th is quite an achievement when you consider MAC teams with one loss used to get hosed by the pollsters. I was a tad surprised to see TCU edge out the Herd in one of the polls, though. Also nice to see Boise State pull down a #12 ranking in one poll!
Good job MU.

Makes the Zips look better as well! 03-wink
