Please wake me when the collective wisdom here tires of comparing ACT scores and taxable income (yesterday's mine-is-bigger-than-yours topic). Unless I hear otherwise, I'll assume that will be sometime around signing day.
if we could be so lucky.
Congratulations, Kit-Kat. 04-cheers

You have just won the Mid-Western Conference Arrogant Post of the Week award.

Your prize? Potentially, demotion of this whole thread to the flame section.

Congratulations. You earned it.

"Its like your unfamiliar with the word"

Can you spot what was misused here? The term " your" is meant to express possession.

Here is a definition:

1 : of or relating to you or yourself or yourselves especially as possessor or possessors <your bodies>, agent or agents <your contributions>, or object or objects of an action <your discharge>

The concept you wished to convey was:

"Its like you are unfamiliar with the word."

Here's a hint.

Apostrophe: When combining two words into one (a contraction), replace the part of the word you left out with an apostrophe.

The finished product:

"you're"

In addition:

"Its like your unfamiliar..."

Use it's to denote the contraction it is. Use its to denote possession.

I've shortened this thread because another Knight has reminded me how gay this is. I'm still leaving up the grammar lesson. "your" welcome.

I'm ready to move on. I didn't think making an error on a message board equals attacking me and my university. I'm very proud of UCF and I was insulted by the "big and stupid" comments. Lack of class to say the least.

I'm done.....this thread is already long enough.
No matter how many times I see that graphic I can't help but LMAO. Add an FSU logo to his shirt and it would be perfect though.

Is this the same Kit Kat that always "could of" done something? Correcting the grammar and spelling of others? Just curious... 03-lol

I know that I shouldn't "of" kept this stupid thread alive for another second, but the irony have (the two words must be interchangeable) it was just too much for me.

<!--EDIT|Oddball|Jan 10 2003, 11:08 AM-->
You no, Oddball, I agree with you. Your write about Kit Kats laughable use of grammer and spelling. I know I should of let this go to, but I felt the kneed to respond two it. Its funny that he claimed their is a difference between a typo and a blatant error, yet he maid won of the most aggregious misteaks in the language...using your instead of you're.

BTW - "kat" is spelled with a "C." 05-nono

UCF-4,000

Size of Transfer class:

Half of the students if not more at UCF are JUCO transfers. Throw the average ACT score, UCF's only staple of respectability out the window.

"Ahh" should be spelled with only two h's.
LOL!
How about "Ahh-h-h-h...".
Or should the hyphenating begin after the FIRST "h"?
Dang, someoen mgith think ahm ignernt!
My SAT's were 2000 and ACT was 51. Does that help? Please love me!

:D

(I know this board can be ridiculous sometimes, but we're reaching some new personal lows in this thread.)

Although I think this is now a dumb thread, I can't let you pass on false information to these people.

For Fall 2002, we had 4,038 FTIC's enrolled and 2,862 CC transfers (and 532 enrolled in the Summer, so don't try to say the difference is made up there).

Quote:Florida's community colleges have the highest graduation rate in the South.

A new survey by the Southern Regional Education Board, a nonprofit organization monitoring schools and colleges from Maryland to Oklahoma, found Florida's 30 percent four-year graduation rate is far ahead of 15 other Southern states. The state's community colleges also are best at keeping students enrolled, the survey found.

Florida is outperforming other states partly because its Two-Plus-Two program, which assures that community-college graduates can transfer to state universities, helps the colleges attract more serious students, said Florida Community College System Chancellor David Armstrong. And, he said, Florida students get far more help outside the classrooms, from basic remediation for math and science skills to career planning.

Finally, CC transfers have no bearing on a school's incoming freshman statistics. They are Juniors when they enroll.

I think this is KC's complaint, since the university accepts students who on average scored low (and thus went to CC) but it doesn't affect the school's statistics.

That's simply a point of clarification. Frankly I don't care much; ASU accepts tons of Maricopa County CC students (often to its detriment), my advisor started at a CC when he got out of HS, and I knew some other extremely bright students who did as well. One went to grad school at Cal Tech, so that ain't bad either. CC isn't all about grades.

Anyway, the CC in Florida (Sarasota to be exact) had a solid reputation even in Ohio, at least when I graduated from HS. Something must be going on for a reputation to spread that far. Curiously, I never heard a thing about branch campuses in Lancaster or Zanesville.
Hashmander, The focus on my UCF roast is environment. The JUCO's are community college caliber students that when they transfer to a 4 year University a JUCO student environment is inserted. And don't forget to count boat loads of part-timers at UCF too. The average age of a senior at UCF is 26. That means UCF is loaded with non-traditional, not ready for college out of high school students.

Would you want to go to UCF, or a school filled with traditional rich university students like OU? Depends if you plan on working at your daddy's corporation (OU grad) or your daddy's hot dog stand (UCF grad).

KC
