WMU 67, BUGS 65. Hard-fought, really ugly game! Both teams had over 20 turnovers and BGSU had two players foul out. WMU was without Anthony Kann (concussion), so that's a good road win.

whats the deal with Kent??? 3 loses in a row...
Final: Miami 69, Herd 49  I don't like the look of this. Charlie Coles' team is showing true-to-form and starting to peak late in the season...

Womens' Games:

Toledo 22, CMU 20. I figured this game would be close... :ninja:

Ball State 20, Buffalo 19. Could the Bulls pull another upset despite the absence of Turner Battle?

EMU 27, NIU 18. The Eagles are just a different team at home, it seems.

Actually, CMich, we lost games to Ball State and Kent just prior to that big win. I'm not sure where this team is headed.

Still, I wouldn't want to play them in the MAC Tourney, if I were you. :D

Yeah, but there'd be no Trevor Huffman to save you this time!
CMU WINS at Toledo!!!!! Oh yeah!

NIU and EMU are in OT, with the Huskies leading 70-67. About 1:50 remaining...

Ball State leads Buffalo 70-63 with 2:00 left.
Huskies win too. 70-68. Great game. Any of you Chips making the trip to DeKalb next Saturday? Should be another great game.

Heart: Yes! Head: Probably not. :(
Kaman is a one man wrecking machine!!

I guess it all depends on one's perspective. :(

EMU had the game won but Cottrill twice went for 0-2 from the FT line and Prillman missed a slam dunk in the last minute. I don't understand why a team shoot so miserably from the FT line: 17-26 = 65%, pathetic.

Also, Boone couldn't coach his way through an AAU game it seems. EMU had the ball with the score tied with about 25 seconds left...plenty of time to set up a play. Instead, Pettyjohn launches a desparate three which clanks off the rim. Why wasn't Ross, the only guy could penetrate and dribble, on the bench? Why were Bowler and Pettyjohn, two guys who can't jump higher than an ant's a$$ on the floor at the same. Why was JuQuan Hart not out there in the final moments? Why? Boone is an idiot!!

EMU was outrebounded 43-26, including 23-5 on the offensive boards. Unreal.

But, congrats to NIU. They took advantage of our miscues and were monstrous on the boards.

I'm being a little overly simplistic. But check the box scores from the Ball State and OU games, and one thing sticks out like a very sore thumb.

Free Throws. Of course Brandon Hunter thankfully suffered from the same disease yesterday and we almost pulled it out.

Kent State Free Throws = 03-banghead
Quote: From the Muncie Paper- "Buffalo (4-17, 1-11 MAC East) cut the Cardinals' lead to 58-54 with 5:10 to play. Ball State made its last six shots from the field, then sank eight of nine free throws in the final 58 seconds to seal the triumph."

" With their floor leader out, the Bulls managed only 49 field-goal attempts (17 fewer than Ball State) and committed 21 turnovers to the Cardinals' seven."

It was a great game to watch. The Bulls played hard and stayed close for most of the game, but the better team won. The final margin was not indicative of the closeness of the game due to the deliberate fouls and free throws at the end. The 12 point final margin was the biggest of the game.

I thought Ball State played as well as any team I've seen play in Alumni this year. They would have been downright awesome with Theron Smith.

Two good shooting games in a row for the Bulls- Bulls shot over 50%. Whoda thunk it? Just to bad there weren't more possessions where they actually got a shot off. Also would have been nice to actually hit a few free throws. 03-banghead
