UB secondary coach Clayton Carlin has left UB to become coach at New Mexico State. Today it was also announced that Coach Bill Lazor, offensive coordinator/QB coach has left to be offensive quality control coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Good luck to both of them! Head Coach Hofher doesn't have much time to replace these two coaches as Spring ball practice starts Friday March 21 with April 12 the Spring game at UB Stadium.
April 12? In Buffalo? We could have three feet of snow on the ground :)

(That said, I believe Syracuse remains in the lead for the Golden Snowball trophy).
OK. Pardon my ignorance here but what in the hell is an offensive quality control coach? Any witty replies along with serious ones would be appreciated.
Spring game? Buffalo has a football team? KIDDING! :D

In the case of UB, it's the guy in charge of making sure there is not too much quality in the offense. :D

(Ok, people who live in glass houses.... 03-wink )
The offensive quality control coach is responsible for breaking down the levels of success and failure play by play and position by position, providing the coordinator with detailed diagnostic information and stuff like that.

OK, I'll be the first to say it but

We know he'll be good at recognizing failure, but don't you need to have some semblence of what success looks like to judge that? :ducking: 03-lol
Hey its Buffalo....what do you expect...they might do well to have an offensive coordinator from the looks of what we see out of them each year. One thing the quality control guy is obviously not in charge of is the quality of players.............
