Here are the lines on the 5 first round MAC Tournament games, along with my predictions:
BGSU @ BSU (-7.5): BSU -- While the Cardinals have certainly struggled down the stretch, the Falcons will be playing their 3rd game in 5 nights. As thin as BG has become, that is a recipe for disaster. Look for the Cards to straighten things out, and pull away late.
Toledo @ WMU (-8.5): WMU -- The Rockets and Broncos have both been playing solid ball down the stretch. The Rockets have had an incredibly inconsistent season, and have had success in K-Zoo in the past. However, I like the Broncos to take care of business at home, and win a tight game.
Buffalo @ NIU (-13.5): NIU -- Despite fears by the Huskie faithful that their team is struggling down the stretch, they are playing the Bulls. NIU by 20.
EMU @ Marshall (-6.5): Marshall -- EMU has had a surprisingly solid season, while Marshall has performed about as well as expected. I think that EMU has a shot at an upset in this game, if it catches Marshall off guard. However, I expect the Herd to take care of business at home, and beat the Eagles.
Ohio @ Akron (-4): Ohio -- This has become a heated rivalry in recent years, and the teams square off in a rubber match after going to over time in the previous two matchups. Ohio is playing its best ball of the season, while Akron looked like the hottest team in the league before losing to Buffalo Saturday. While Akron certainly has the ability to win at home, and Hollingsworth is expected to play, I like OU to win a very close game, this time in regulation.
Should be an exciting night of hoops. Best of luck to everyone other than the Zips.
