I think this is a decent seed. Creighton is a tough match, but I think they have a good shot. Duke is likely in the second round, and I think that will be a tough assignment...

Decent draw for the Chips...Good luck!
Seems to me the tournament committee did a pretty darned good job. Southern Illinois, Butler and Gonzaga all found their way in. That seems fair.
Creighton is tough, but in looking at the Bluejays' roster, the biggest player is 6'10" 230lb. Joe Dabbert, and his numbers -- 5.2ppg/2.6rpg/close to one bkpg -- are not scary. Dabbert is the only player over 6'8", BTW, so Kaman could have a big game. Kyle Korver on either Tony Bowne or Mike Manciel should be an interesting matchup. If we can slow him, I think we win this game.
i think an 11 seed for the chips is a slap in the face. but creighton is a small team that goes through its guards. CMU should EASILY WIN. Creighton no inside game....and the MAC has all the guards you can deal with....Creightons guard should pose no problem for the Chips. I`ll be surprised to see the Chips anything more then a 3.5 point dog
Wait a second. Creighton didn't get in the top ten this year for nothing. This Creighton team is very good and has beaten the like of Notre Dame, SIU and some other national program. If I remember correctly SIU had a very good post player as well. You talk about whose gonna match up on Kamen but whose gonna match up on Korver? Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if this winner of this game went to the Sweet 16. I am not impressed with Duke because they are young and prone to dry spells. They also don't have a "go-to guy." Anyways, good luck CMU but don't think this is gonna be a cake walk.
Bill Walton & Company are going over their "Bracketology 101" on ESPN right now. These guys are making predictions for the first round and they have Creighton moving on to play Duke.

Hopefully, CMU will focus on Creighton and not look ahead to the Blue Devils. If they should move on....the CHIPS CAN BEAT DUKE.

Kaman is a force and Dukes inside game isn't that strong. The rest of the guys will have to step up to keep the D from sagging back on Kaman.

Should be interesting.

GO MAC!!!

I'm not thinking cakewalk! Not at all. Creighton appears to have an inside game, however, only one guy appears to be a power player. A statistical look at the leading scorers & rebounders:

F Kyle Korver 6'7", 210lb Sr: 17.7ppg, 6.3rpg, 3.0 apg

G Larry House 6'4", 205lb. Sr: 11.1ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.3apg

F Mike Grimes 6'7", 215lb. Jr: 8.2ppg, 3.9rpg

F Brody Deren 6'8", 245lb. Jr: 7.9ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.64bpg

F Michael Lindeman 6'6", 190lb. Jr: 7.8ppg, 3.5rpg

Everyone else averages under 7ppg and 3rpg. Deren appears to be the power player, while the other forwards would seem to be finesse guys, for the most part.
Good luck against Creighton! I kind of wish you didn't open against another so-called "midmajor" (as I would've liked to have seen both teams make some noise in the tourney), but it should be a tough game. I have a feeling CMU will edge them out, so I'll wind up pick you guys in the upcoming office pool. :D

Interesting factoid... Dickie V mentioned Auburn's 18-point loss to WMU four times in a 15-minute span. LOL.

Side note... The 14-seed Lady Broncos will play at Stanford on Saturday. An upset would be a shocker. But regardless of final score, it'll be great experience for next year (there's only one senior on the entire WMU squad).

Agree with you MB, throwing CMU and Creighton together in rd. 1 when there are only a handful of mids in, is a bit mean spirited on their part. 03-wink
That said, good matchup. Sure they are tough and Korver can go lights out. Put whoever guarded Haut on him. 03-banghead
I think you have a great shot to going to Sat. Got to shoot well and Kamen needs to play fiercely. You could really hand it to Creighton, though, seriously.
Duke? Got to keep the turnovers down against them or they will eat you up. They are vulnerable. After that it gets ugly! What a region!
Go get 'em. Took you in my bracket! 04-cheers
I'd like to wish the best of luck to the Chippies as well! BTW, I just happened to be in Mt. Pleasant Saturday night! The place erupted when CMU won the MAC title. It was fun, even for a Bronco. 03-wink

BTW, if anyone is interested in seeing that that little discussion Dickie V was having about Auburn and WMU (see Motown above), it's on the ESPN web site at: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/index#

Look under audio/video at the lower right side of the page. It's titled "Shock city".
FIRE UP CHIPS!!!!!!! GO CMU!!!!!! 04-cheers
Dude, consensus on the OHIO board is that Kaman has become a prima donna type whinercryer, was so at Gund.

I thought Kaman talked too much to the officials...whenever he finally did get whistled, he would talk and complain.

I won't take anything away from Kaman...he is a monster talent esp for the MAC. But he needs to just play more and talk less.

Dude. While we go out to SLC to play in the Big Dance, you're left on the sidelines to play with your "Dell".

There was a lot to talk about, and at least he's talking and not yelling. The TV crew pointed out several times Kaman was pushed, shoved, and even tripped with no whistle. Remember these are MAC refs, here. I didn't hear him complaining after the game to the media, so it's not so bad.
