I can't take credit for finding this, but found it interesting that Ohio State seems to want to take on the entire MAC this century.

<a href='http://ohiostatebuckeyes.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/2006-schedule.html' target='_blank'>Buckeyes play NIU in '06 at TBA</a>. Ooh!! Please let it be Soldier Field!!! 04-rock
I thought Ohio was going to fill that OSU open date with a game.

:(

Man, it would suck suck suck for most of us to watch Ohio State play Northern Illinois at Soldier Field.

Could we trade you our '06 Wisconsin game at Cleveland Stadium?
Only five games at the Shoe that season so far and two road trips to Illinois for tOAMU already.

You might get a neutral field, but it would come as a big surprise to me.

(BTW, for all I like to pick on the Bucks for never playing roadies, you've got to give them some credit for scheduling a game at Texas for that season. I doubt those two teams have ever played outside of maybe a Cotton Bowl.)

Vince Young and the 'Horns will be playing in Columbus in 2005 and tOSU returns the favor in 2006. Also, I believe that tOSU is attempting to schedule a 1-and-1 with USC some time soon.
Hmmmm. Just goes to show you how much attention I pay to the Nuts.

Yeah, I'm really not getting too excited about Soldier Field, because I can't imagine that it's really a possibility.

You're right about OSU - for the hell they've gotten about all the home games, a 1 and 1 with Texas is a bold step.
Much like the San Diego St. game last year, I imagine they will essentially put this game out to bid. Most likely to Cleveland and maybe Chicago. The question is can these sites match the revenue that a game at Ohio Stadium generates with 110,000 people at $55 a head. If not, I think the game will be in Columbus.
