WAit, I'm confused..... why does New Orleans get to skip the first round and play the No.2 seed team outright?
I'm sorry but this tournament doesn't work out well at all. Having 3 bye teams works out with the MAC Tourney because they have 13 teams, so it evens out. You can't do that with 11 teams in this tourney.
11 teams makes for an unbalanced tourney. The West has 6 teams, so 3 get byes. It all works out. No matter what, to win the tourney, most need 3 straight wins.

I have to say that no matter who wins in Denton I am proud of the belt this year. We have NO bad teams with the possible exception of USA. I feel sorry for whoever draws the Sunbelt champs in the NCAAs.
The championship game is set as UL will take on Western division foe Denver tomorrow night at 8 pm CST on ESPN2. Cajuns are looking to repeat as SBC Champions, while DU is trying to win its first SBC Championship.

GEAUX CAJUNS!!!
