Really? I wasn't aware the Big East had seperated already! Although I'm sure CUSA will be taking Marshall under their wing once again next year...

The C-USA without UC and UL is hardly a conference worth joining, if you are a MAC team. A very mediocre football conference, and I'd bet Marquette would find greener pastures for hoops, too. What was once a premier basketball conference becomes decidedly, as we are so fond of saying, "Mid-Major." Except for Memphis, maybe not as good as the MAC, the MVC, etc.
It would be lateral move for both Marshall and UCF, but they may find they have more in common with C-USA school in other areas so that it works for them. But crank up those travel bills for MUg! Would it be financially workable for them? I don't know.

A game with Alabama-Birmingham is *always* worth the trip.

Here is the only certainty . . . you are going to have teams jump conferences for more money.

Marshall to C-USA? Who knows? Depends on the other teams in the conference and the almighty dollar.

However, teams like Marshall, UCF, Miami and Toledo are in prestine positions to move elsewhere.

It won't happen this year or next so keep dreaming. :rolleyes:

Anyone that thinks there will be anything other than this is smoking Crack. All teams mentioned are cream of the Mac...but revenue and ALL sports wise we are not needed by a bigger conference, not at this point.
