Being biased, I think UCF will be drastically improved.
I think UCF will be, but why isn't Toledo on your list? You have Marshall on your list and they had the same record as Toledo at 8-4. I think Toledo has the opportunity to take their game to the next level this year and win the MAC title.

Good question. I guess I just asumed that Toledo would be good :)
Akron and Charlie Frye
Since Kent had one of the MAC’s best offenses last year, there isn’t a lot of room for improvement. In passing, Joshua Cribbs was 178-364 for 2424 yds, 14 TD, 9 INT. In rushing, he had 161 carries for 701 yds and 14 TDs. In receiving, Darrell Dowery Jr. had 41 catches for 783 yds and 4 TDs. RB David Alston has the break away speed to score and if he can stay healthy, he will run up plenty of yardage.

Defensively, the Flashes should be much better than last year. Since there is plenty of experience, I expect an overall improvement after the Flashes allowed 33 points and 461.8 yards per game. The defensive backs have too much experience and skill for the Golden Flashes to have the worst pass defense in the MAC again. With another year of strengthening and conditioning, I expect to see a much stronger and aggressive defense.

In short, I expect Kent to be most improved overall with Alston complementing Cribbs in the backfield and the Flashes showing much more aggressiveness on defense.
Same as it ever was at Kent. Or as Dean Pees once said, "I don't get it. These guys looked like Deion Sanders in practice. But on Saturday, they played like Dionne Warwick."

UCF will be greatly improved-their record was ridiculous for the talent on the team, considering what was going on inside the program the record was understandable. The Rockets should be improved. Bruce G is not a first year starter and his reads should be much better. The big step-up should be defense and the kicking game. Overall depth looks better too!.

That's not a bad guess. My guess, however, is Central Michigan.
This is going to sound a little stupid, but I think every team is going to step it up this year. The lower teams realize that they have to step it up or they will be left in the dust. The top tier teams are hungry after last year and will want to prove that the success they had last year wasn't a fluke.

That is a very good assumption!!! 04-bow
This isn't a slam, but your rocket logo looks like a shark.
I think they may have been the intention of the design.....make it look a bit scary.

You've seen our mascot....right? 03-wink 03-razz :(

Oh....and I think UCF will improve drastically.....I mean....they couldn't be any worse than they were last year................................................could they??? 03-wink
DG-

I hope one thing at Kent is the same. We laid 30 points on Miami, losing by 8 in the last four minutes. I read so much about the vaulted MAC defenses; last year we scored 33 against BG and Marshall. All of the offensive fire power is back plus our best OL and FB; both lost early last year to injury. The defense was as bad as the offense was good. A guy named Wauford should help us in that area.

Plus, Pees is gone. He looked bad on any day, IMO. Based upon last year, a new coach alone is worth two more wins.

IMO, Central Michigan
CMU has an easy schedule and a born leader for our new HC. If we can improve our defense and passing, we might just suprise a few people. But then again....
My guess is UCF. The Chipps will make a jump too with Coach Kelly, but I think that UCF's talent level and new coach will make the biggest improvement in the record. From a Defensive standpoint, I hope to GOD that Akron comes out ahead.
Tie --- Akron & UCF. From awful to better !!
Buffalo will show the most improvement in my view with Toledo on the verge of a big year.

I voted for Buffalo, but I have a feeling that next year may be a bigger improvement. The loss of Bradford and Concepcion (arguably one of the best potential CB tandems in the MAC) will really hurt the defense.

If the Bulls can play keep away with a ball control offense, they have dramatically improved the kicking game (both punting and place kicking) I think they will be in alot of games this year. That being said, they are still thin at LB, D-Line and WR.

An optomistic view of this season looks like three wins, but they could easily only win once and still have a much improved squad. They seem to be taking baby steps, and any real improvement in the win column is still a couple of seasons away.
Jim Hofher is taking the right steps by getting young kids, allowing them time to learn and grow in Bulls' football without trying to rely on JUCOs.

If Buffalo wins 3 that will be a great.

When is the last time Buffalo has won 3 or more games? Sorry, I not very informed on Buffalo football history.
