I know there are many more big games in the MAC that don't involve Marshall, but I saw this on CFN and these were the only games listed.
Friday, Sept 12th- Toledo at Marshall
Is this a preview of the MAC title game? Probably not, but these are still two of the league's best teams. This will be a national showcase for the Baby Backs of Toledo against an average Herd run D, but Marshall finds ways to win big games at home. Unless the Rockets can own this game on the ground, Marshall should walk away with the win with Darius Watts, Josh Davis and the passing game lighting up the UT secondary.
Predicted score in July: Marshall 34 ...Toledo 30
Oasis Casino Line: Marshall -7 / Carib Sports Line: coming
Wednesday, November 12th - Marshall at Miami University
One of the wildest and wackiest games of last year, Stan Hill filled in for Byron Leftwich and led the Thundering Herd to a 36-34 win. After all the fireworks on the field, there were more explosions off it as the Miami coaching staff went bezerk over some late pass interference calls. This year, the Redhawks have the superstar quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger. Against a weak Herd secondary, he should have a huge game.
Predicted score in July: Miami 38 ...Marshall 31
Oasis Casino Line: Miami -3 / Carib Sports Line: coming
Stopping the Toledo RB's will be a huge task and this game could be won in the trenches.
CFN says this year, the Redhawks have the superstar QB in Roethlisberger. Well, that's who they had last year. The only difference is Ben will be playing at home this year. Marshall still has the better WR's (IMO).
Also on CFN:
The Auburn Tigers are left searching for a 2004 home game after Bowling Green recently decided to back out of its Sept 25 date at Jordan Hare next season. BGU apparently dropped the game because of financial reasons. The Falcons were going to make about $300,000 for the Auburn game, but Oklahoma upped the anti and have invited the Falcons to play in Norman next season for a guaranteed payout of $500,000.
