For those of you who think we didn't learn our lesson last year, read the following. It shows that we're able to eat large plates of humble pie, and learn from our mistakes:

At first I thought... well, they sound enthusiastic about their season... but, at the end where they said

"The Big East doesn't matter," Gaines said. "If the Big East lets us in, they'll get around to it eventually. What matters right now is the MAC.

"Point blank, we can win the MAC because every Saturday we go out and play hard. We should have won it last year."

A. What is wrong with being in the MAC?

B. Should have won it last year? Well, you didn't did you... and let me tell you something else UCF you aint going to win it this year either... grrrrrr :chair:

Thanks Ni... Yes, they should learn their lesson and just prove it on the field...

#1 Non-BCS
#2 Non-BCS
#3 Non-BCS

#4 Too many weak teams
(especially Buffalo, E. Michigan, and Kent State)

#5 Geographic Proximity (for UCF)
(of course this doesn't improve in BE, but see #1-3)

As long as the BigLeast has a chance of retaining its BCS status, then that is the only real reason for leaving the MAC. The other reason is that UCF wants to be in one conference for all sports.
According to a recent article, UCF is once again a canidate.

This article says Louisville, Cinncinati, and EITHER UCF or USF. Not both, UCF and USF.

You have a good shot Knights.

I have no doubt that there is a high probability that the BigEast will lose it's BCS status. However, compared to the MAC - the BigEast has a better chance of maintaining or regaining BCS status than the MAC has of being brought into the BCS fold.

The next two or three years should be very interesting. I hope that the BCS implodes and some sort of playoff system is put in place, but that is probably a pipe dream.

It's just too crazy right now with all the speculation. A Boston Globe article only mentions: Cincy, Louisville and UCF. The AP reports from the meeting only mentioned the same three. The NJ paper was the only one to go with an either or scenario w/ UCF and USF. We'll see how this plays out.
