Man, will the season ever start?

Meanwhile, let's have some fun and see if we can compile a pair representing each school. Remember, this is just for laughs (especially for assigning the infamous ones), so no one should get bent out of shape.

What about the cradle of coaches most favorite son?

Tim Rose.

While Don James was Kent's last great (and perhaps only great coach), if you count students, the famous title has to go to Jack Lambert. As much as it pains us Browns fans to recall, this Steelers six time all pro and Hall of Famer played for the Flashes. He played with Nick Saben for Don James, as matters of fact.

Yes, once upon a time, in a land far, far away, KSU actually had a decent football program.

Gary Pinkel was the TE for that Kent team, as well.
And with that kind of talent, they could still only manage 1 MACC in 7 years!!! 04-rock

Uh, actually, that's 1 in about 80 years. :(

Can we talk about something else?
Did you know we went to the Elite 8 in 2002?
How 'bout that British Open?
:D
Under the infamous, Buddy Ryan was an assistant coach at UB in the early 60's.
Okie, since this is all in good fun it probably doesn't matter much what we plug in here, but although Woody did indeed make a very brief stop in Oxford (and win a bowl game), he didn't go to or play for Miami.....now, with Bo that's a different story, since he played offensive line at MU, and coached us around 4 or 5 years. Guess we have to take "credit" for him (I always found him to be something of a whiner myself, hence he wasn't one of my favorite coaches).

In the MU famous category, there are many notables you could pick, but I'd put Ara at the top, both for what he accomplished at Miami as a coach and a player, and what he accomplished later at Northwestern and ND.
