NIU has 26 votes, Marshall 24 and BG got 3 votes. Of note to vengeful BG fans, Utah got 9 votes.

Auburn absolutely plummeted.

All in all, not bad for the first week of games. Next week, I'd expect Northern to lose a few votes just by virtue of playing Tennessee Tech.

In other news, my old high school lost its 27th consecutive game.

The rankings in the polls are not only determined by how your team did, but also by how others performed.

Example: The best explanation for Iowa jumping two spots after their less than impressive 21-3 victory over Miami are the losses by Washington, Maryland, and Oklahoma State.

P.S.- The Big Ten Coach(es) who gave Michigan State votes should be ashamed. While some partisan voting is surely expected, this is ridiculous. The Spartans were lackluster at best against the Broncos.
