Its not that this Pitt fans hate Penn State, But....Do All of my MAC brethren out there have to go through having the "Big" Local team shoved down your throat...I am so glad PITT has gotten better and that now the media is paying us some attention...For the last decade I have had Penn State shoved down my throat of how great they are...They are in the middle of the state would get more press then Pitt, Pitt did suck but the media was relentless in telling us how bad Pitt had fallen...We got no love and up until this summer the media still rags Pitt...they finally are getting on Joe Pa and Penn State...Do the ohio teams all get shoved into one corner for OSU coverage...does the media constantly have smart a** comments about your school and give no support, do michigan schools get any love?...Well to qoute a movie " I am as mad as he** and I am not going to take it any more.." lets all have a revolution against the media, lets beat these teams that have clouded our coverage...go Kent beat PSU  "we are (clap clap)...Kent State!
Yes, as a matter of fact, the media in Ohio and Michigan put most of their efforts and coverage into Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State. Here in Toledo, it's OSU, UM, and Notre Dame. All the MAC teams play in the long shadow of the B10/11.
IKE,

Great to feel that Western PA love for the Flashes. Glad you all are sending us some players from a preps football heaven to go with it.

The best of the MAC would beat Penn State or give them a helluva game. They struggled at home ( in the friendly confines of over 100,000+ fans) against Temple, one of the ten worst DI-A teams according to ESPN. And BC gave them a butt kicking, but BC's been known to do that to ranked teams (right, Irish fans? :crying: )
But the Flashes, as much as I love 'em, are not at the top of the MAC. They will have to play their game of the season and PSU would need not to improve for the Flashes to pull off an upset.

Having said that, the Lions numbers don't strike fear into me. They have only 314 yds in total offense over 2 games. Mills at 111 passing yards over two games may be a treat for the Flash secondary after getting tuned up by Frye and Rutherford. Their D gave up 357 yards and 10 points against Temple. The total yards is respectable, maybe...but against TEMPLE?

So, sorry you (and I ) have to count on the Flashes to bring MAC honor to Happy Valley. But then again - if there was ever a year to take the Lions again, like other MAC teams, this may be it. Send some over in Blue and Gold, would ya?

Finally, you've seen the Flashes and receive unwelcome coverage of the Lions. What do you think of the Flashes chances? Dare we dream it?

Go Flashes!!

I hope we can get it done sir! I think PSU tradition will take over but I think if the Flashes could just get there confidence and play with abandonment they can (and will) hang for 3 quarters...Cribbs and Alston I don't think will be able to run well against the nits...I think they will have to win it through the air...PSU running I think will be held in check overall, but I can see true freshman Scott or Robinson breaking two long runs to put the Nits over the Top along with at least one long bomb to Johnson...If Mills is not sharp that will bode well for Kent...I liked their run D it was tough for most of the night against the panthers...I teel you Pees should give a RB look at Drager...the kid impressed me last year as a running back..he has cuts and does not waste time dancing...I hop to maybe make it to one game at Dix if my fiance allows it :( ... How much are game tickets? does any one grill or do I have to break out the Hibachi?

What I would like to see! Kent being the seat yielding red angry guy and PSU being the hapless blue man with an obvious concussion :chair:
For what little it is worth, we do match up much better vs. PSU than Pitt. Our defensive stregth is in our linebackers, not our secondary. Problem is, I figure JoePa has watched some game film in his time and will see the same thing.
03-wink
IKE,

I would try to come on Sat if you can. YSU might be the largest crowd of the year and the most fun.

Unfortunately, no one really tailgates at Kent. Bring your own BBQ.

Tickets for YSU and BSU are $15 reserved, $10 bleacher. Later in the year, it's $12 & $8.

Thanks for the info! Seriously guys..that cheap of prices for major college football eastern ohio should be there in full force...even with Akron,YSU and Kent in close quarters I think there are over 80,000 football fans in the greater cleveland/akron/Ytown/Canton area...the area needs to realize the entertainment they have right in thier back yard...half of you are not that close to O-state and won't get tickets... 03-banghead frustrating...Ok back to reality, thanks again and hope to be thier!!!
