Last night I was surfing through my Dish Network channels and came across something called "NBC Showcase". When I went to that channel, a small computer program downloaded to my TV and voila, SIX stations appeared on the screen at the same time. You can only hear audio on one station, of course, but you can scroll the audio for any of the six stations. Very cool. If you only want to see a single channel (screen), you simply hit the SELECT button on your remote. If you want to go back to the six screens, simply hit SELECT again.

This is a killer app, as it provides a great portal to 72 hours per day of Olympic TV coverage on multiple channels.

I hope CBS is paying attention. Wouldn't it be awesome to follow the NCAA Basketball Tourney with access to ALL the games? (That's especially important to me because I live outside of the MAC's footprint and in past years have missed seeing my favorite teams play.)

It would also be great to program in your own set of channels. College football Saturdays would be so much easier to follow!
Yeah, I found it too on my Dish. It's pretty cool. I think it is an Dish Network only thing though. I was thinking of e-mailing Dish to see if they can do something like this for college football. That would be awesome. I'm always surfing through numerous games in the morning before heading out to watch the Herd play.
I noticed this yesterday, too but there was only one channel showing Olympic stuff at the time. This morning there were 3 channels going so it was very cool. (Except that the choices were JPN vs CHN in women's tennis, this first half hour of a 3 hour women's cycling race and a blowout hoops game--which I watched as Spain manhandled Yao and the Chinamen.
I am going to zip off an e-mail to DISH recommending that they try this with ESPN Game Plan at least. Perfect for a Saturday afternoon when there are many games being broadcast at once.
It's basically just PIP except that there are 6 pictures from which to choose. I'm sure they could increase that, too. Trés cool.
I'd love the Olympics a lot more if they showed all the sports all the time...as opposed to the lame, pointless montages and stories that NBC loves to force on people. A 25 minute story followed by a 5 minute sports clip just doesn't do it for me.
Agreed--they ruined the last Olympics with their coverage. It was almost unwatchable.

It's slightly better this time, but the real Olympics are on live early in the morning. They are good so far about scheduling stuff like men's basketball so it is live in the afternoon here (1 p.m. EDT).

They try too hard to build "storylines" but when the outcomes of events are already known, what's the point? I heard yesterday afternoon that Phelps had won his first gold, so seeing it in primetime had no more appeal than watching it on Sportscenter.
I missed the basketball game.
I would have loved to see my fellow Puerto Ricans whup up on the overhyped U.S. team. 04-rock
Did Puerto Rico play the United States today?

I thought I was watching a live-action remake of Space Jam, except Michael Jordan didn't save the day at the end!
lol

well, before anyone starts the anti=american comments...remember, Puerto Ricans are Americans too. :)

Just be careful which Puerto Ricans you say that to. :)

(Last time I was in San Juan, Vieques flags were hanging all over the place.)
well..needless to say, i'm not part of the "independence camp". hehe Puerto Rico is just fine as it is.
